Then, finally, I saw it…a small sign reading
"Serenity Café," tucked between a hardware store and an empty lot.
My heart leaped. This had to be it.
“Ethan,” I whispered, tightening my grip on his hand.
“Stay very close, okay?”
He nodded, and I led them inside.
The café was quiet, a few tables scattered around, the air filled with the faint scent of fresh coffee and old wood.
A soft murmur of jazz played in the background, barely audible over the sound of my own heartbeat.
