They All Fall Down

They All Fall Down

“No, wait. Michael, which bars at this time of day, that are close by, should someone avoid if they don’t want to mix with… seedy people?” His hologram shimmered into view, the light struggling against the oppressive sunshine. He looked pained. “There are seven establishments within a four-block radius that fit that description based on police reports and public sentiment algorithms. By far the most statistically dangerous and socially… complex… is Cafe Thirst on Lavender Street.” A genuine laugh, dry and cracked, escaped me. “I know it. We are heading there.” “Ang,” he said, his voice a low, urgent hum. “May I remind you that your psychological and physical biomarkers are critically below o

The Devil's Plaything

The Devil's Plaything

Chapter 18 — Worse Than the Devil Marcus Diego’s fingers drummed on the polished surface of the closed café counter. He had been here before sunrise, watching the world wake while shadows clung to the corners of the quiet lounge. Everything in this place—down to the copper kettle behind the bar and the hand-painted teacups in the display—was chosen with her in mind. Serena Vale. He had bought the café for her, down to the deed signed in her name. She had always wanted to work in a place like this. Back then, she used to smile while talking about steamed milk and pastries, unaware that life was preparing to break her instead.

The Orphan's Goddess

The Orphan's Goddess

I would love to see what’s on the menu of your favorite café.” You have no idea Chris. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to know how other cafés work and what’s on their menu, with that I can innovate something new in my very own café. Aside from that, I think this place is the perfect meeting place for me and Ronald. It is quite hidden and there aren’t so much people around. With a smiling face Chris said, “What are we waiting for? Let’s go in!” I nodded with such excitement “Oh hell yeah! I am also starving, you know.” We both laughed while entering the café. The ambiance of the café is truly homey. It actually didn’t look like a café at all, it was more of a home. Their tables and c

The Vows We Fake

The Vows We Fake

For my next agenda, I chose a café terrace. Not just any café, but one of those fashionable ones along the boulevard where celebrities are always “spotted” sipping overpriced cappuccinos and pretending to be ordinary. Photographers staked it out daily, hungry for scandal. It was the perfect stage. Sera arrived right on time, as I knew she would. She was always punctual when it came to her carefully curated routines. Slim cream dress, oversized sunglasses, diamond studs flashing in the sunlight. She rocked her bump to perfection.

Whispers Beneath The Rain

Whispers Beneath The Rain

“There’s so much happening everywhere.” “That’s city life,” Evan said. He guided her down a lively side street lined with small brick buildings and colorful shop signs. They stopped in front of a cozy café with wooden tables set outside beneath striped umbrellas. The sign above the door read: “Morning Bloom Café.” Clara smiled instantly. “This place looks adorable.” Inside, the café was warm and inviting. The walls were decorated with local artwork and framed photographs of the city from decades past. A chalkboard menu listed fresh pastries, omelets, and homemade waffles.

The Billionaire's Showgirl

The Billionaire's Showgirl

I met Isabella D’Caputo in a coffee shop that did not belong to Luca. That was the first requirement. Not the hospital café inside New Zenith. Not the sleek espresso bar in the Cashmere Crown. Not the place near the arts center where the barista had started writing little hearts beside my name after the children’s wing opening went viral. Somewhere ordinary. Somewhere with sticky tables, mismatched chairs, burned espresso, and a front window looking out at a strip mall with a nail salon, a tax office, and a sandwich shop that advertised three kinds of tuna like that was a reasonable amount of tuna for one building.

HUNTING MR. RIGHT

HUNTING MR. RIGHT

Lean's palm felt so hot against her cold palm from nervousness. "You went to take care of Michael's agency?" "That’s how it is." When they entered The Paradise cafe, their hands were still holding each other. This was completely unnoticed by Avelyn until Lean let go because he needed to fix his hair, which irritated his eyes a little when he was about to order food at the waiter. "What do you want?" The menus sold in the cafe are written in large writing on the wall above the reservation table. The ordering concept is similar to McDonalds. There are various kinds of burgers offered by The Paradise. Avelyn was confused about choosing one of the several tantalizing burger pictures.

Another free cup. Barely had the words been scratched into the soft flesh of her inner wrist, when a shadow fell over twenty-year-old, Serenity Monaghan. “Another cup? On the house.” Closing her fist around the toothpick, Serentiy turned her wrist to the table and lifted her head, smiling at the young waiter. “Thank you. That’s awfully nice of you.” “You’re a regular customer, it’s fine.” Ian, no older than her, smiled and leaned forward, filling her cup, the coffee’s steam rising in lazy circles. He poured in cream and smiled as he wandered off, tending to other patrons in the small café.

SHATTERED CROWNS

SHATTERED CROWNS

The cafe by the Serpentine was busier than Seraphina had expected. Tourists in winter coats. A family with two small children eating pastries. A pair of old men reading newspapers by the window. A woman with a dog at her feet. A teenager on a laptop. The cafe smelled like coffee and warm pastry and wet leaves from the path outside. Seraphina took a table by the window. She ordered tea for two. The waitress did not recognize her. She put her phone face down on the table and laced her hands together in her lap to keep them still.

They also served food, breakfast, dinners, and sometimes held functions, according to too the lovely people at the B&B. As I walked in, a bell on the door rang indicating someone's presence, but I had been so jumpy lately that the doorbell made me turn around in shock. The inside of the cafe has the same pink theme. Albeit a little darker than I would assume seeing the sunshine brightly outside. The round tables were chocolate brown, while the adjoint seating areas were pink leather. The bar desk was pink as well but a lighter shade and where the counter opens, there was a brown wooden lid. There were pictures of Audrey Hepburn and Elvis along with countless other icons hanging on the walls.
