“You’ll break, cousin. You’ve always been too soft.” Serenya clenched her fists, lifting her chin. “And you’ve always mistaken cruelty for strength.” The dragon lowered its head. Flames licked from its jaws, weaving into two arcs of fire. Step forward. Take the flame, if it will have you. Serenya’s legs trembled as she walked into the circle. Fire curled around her, hot but not burning, wrapping her in a cocoon of light. She closed her eyes and thought of her people—the children hiding in ruined villages, the mothers who buried their dead, the warriors who still held the walls though hope grew thin.

She sat on the grass beside the stone bench and looked at the gold flowers. "I have been writing," Seren said. "Not names—a different book. About Clara. About the garden. About the watcher's love." Morwen looked at her. "What will you call it?" Seren was quiet for a moment. "I do not know yet. Something simple. The Witness. Or The One Who Stayed." Morwen nodded. "She would like that." Seren's tears fell onto the grass. "I miss her." Morwen reached down and took her hand. "I miss her too. But she is not gone. She is in the flowers. In the roots. In the watcher."

She remains kneeling on the ground for a few more minutes until she feels stable enough to stand up before she continues forward, her feet a little wobbly. “What in the realms was that?” she mutters. Shaking off the feeling, she comes to the opening of a small meadow with the morning sun barely breaking through the trees to greet the blooming flowers covering the ground. Serenia finds a spot in the center and sits down, crossing her legs one over the other as she has done many times already, and closes her eyes. Reaching deep within her, she can already feel the small source of energy sitting in the core of her chest.

He squatted in front of her, elbows resting on his knees and his head tilted to the side. She stared at him for a few moments, before sighing. “I don’t want to belong to anyone.” He pursed his lips and turned his head to the side, looking at the station across the street. “How long do you think you can run for? How long before Iraziel comes again? Or another angel someone more powerful?” Serenity’s head sank to her chest, and she closed her eyes, tears threatening. “We’re not the enemy, Serenity.” “And I can’t be what you want me to be.”

Roy then deliberately took Sira's hand. Among the brightly shining stars, Love grew in the silence of the night. In the gentle whisper of the calm wind, The heart trembles, dancing in peace. When they arrived at the entrance to Serenity's neighborhood, Serenity got out and said to Peter, "Goodbye." Peter hesitated for a moment before saying, "Goodbye." It was a simple word, but it carried a lot of emotions. His pursuit of her was destined to be fruitless from the beginning. However, Peter never regretted it. Serenity actually had a far more difficult life than he could have ever imagined. Not many people could endure such ups and downs. Yet, she was like a wintersweet after a severe winter; even if the wind and the frost of winter tried to destroy her, she still bloomed and emitted her own unique fragrance after winter had passed.

Her gaze held mine, steady and warm. “Stop trying to fight with yourself. Breathe, work it out, and go with what feels right.” Her words settled over me like a quiet wave, soothing yet powerful. For a moment, the room fell silent except for my uneven breathing. Slowly, I leaned forward and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand, trying to regain some control over myself. When I looked back up, Serenity was gone. No flashing of light to indicate disappearing or footsteps or a trace that she had even been there to begin with.

Seren closed its eyes, and as it began to sing, a sense of tranquility settled over the clearing. The lullaby floated through the air, its melody intertwining with the rustling leaves and the gentle hum of nature. The pack members felt the weight of their worries and burdens lifted, replaced by a deep sense of calm and serenity. The enchanting notes wove through their beings, mending the cracks within their spirits and infusing them with a renewed vitality. Emily closed her eyes, tears of gratitude pooling at the corners. "Seren, your voice is like a balm to our souls. We have faced countless challenges, and this melody reminds us of the strength and beauty that lies within."

She could feel Gideon squeezing her hand. Smiling softly, she inhaled the evening breeze. Jewel looked up at the sky and stared at the full moon. The evening breeze passed them slowly, caressing her bare cheek. "The moon shines bright tonight," Gideon whispered. Jewel looked at Gideon standing beside her. He was also looking up at the moon and had a small smile on hiss lips. Jewel just gaze at him, breathless. "A perfect night for a moonlight serenade, isn't it?" he said. Gideon looked down at her and then smiled softly. "Do you mind if I sing a song?"
