Noong bata ako ay nakita ako sa dalampasigan. May kwintas na nakasuot saakin at may pendant na singsing kung saan may nakauikit na pangalang Serene. Pero hindi ko iyon sinuot. How come my biological parents gave me a necklace and not a letter? Nakakatawa diba? But I really wished that it was a letter. A letter full of explanations why they left me. I don't want to grow full of questions but here I am compiling questions that I can't even ask.

Seren closed its eyes, and as it began to sing, a sense of tranquility settled over the clearing. The lullaby floated through the air, its melody intertwining with the rustling leaves and the gentle hum of nature. The pack members felt the weight of their worries and burdens lifted, replaced by a deep sense of calm and serenity. The enchanting notes wove through their beings, mending the cracks within their spirits and infusing them with a renewed vitality. Emily closed her eyes, tears of gratitude pooling at the corners. Equilibrium. Serenity, despite her name meaning the state of being calm and at peace, has never had a taste of being in the said state. Not once was she able to live without crippling anxiety. Rose was fondly smiling but the last line reminded her of something, rather someone but she didn't let it affect her. She was bidding adieu to a lovely person so she didn't want to radiate any sadness.

He squatted in front of her, elbows resting on his knees and his head tilted to the side. She stared at him for a few moments, before sighing. “I don’t want to belong to anyone.” He pursed his lips and turned his head to the side, looking at the station across the street. “How long do you think you can run for? How long before Iraziel comes again? Or another angel someone more powerful?” Serenity’s head sank to her chest, and she closed her eyes, tears threatening. “We’re not the enemy, Serenity.” “And I can’t be what you want me to be.”

Serena I sauntered almost aimlessly around the house, going nowhere but enjoying the feel of everywhere at the same time. With one hand placed protectively over my small baby bump, I stretched the other one out to caress a monochrome painting hanging up on the wall. The artwork depicted a serene but dark landscape, a withering tree at its center with gnarled branches stretched toward the sky, its dead leaves shimmering in coated black and silver. Surrounding the tree, rolling hills met a horizon of silver moonlight. It was sad and beautiful but looked out of place in the midst of nothing else but a vast, empty wall. And being drawn to the masterpiece, there was an instant connection.

She could feel Gideon squeezing her hand. Smiling softly, she inhaled the evening breeze. Jewel looked up at the sky and stared at the full moon. The evening breeze passed them slowly, caressing her bare cheek. "The moon shines bright tonight," Gideon whispered. Jewel looked at Gideon standing beside her. He was also looking up at the moon and had a small smile on hiss lips. Jewel just gaze at him, breathless. "A perfect night for a moonlight serenade, isn't it?" he said. Gideon looked down at her and then smiled softly. "Do you mind if I sing a song?"
