Fire

Fire

I hadn’t expected it to be easy, my life hadn’t exactly been easy either but taking my mother’s magic just brought things to a whole new level of what the hell. “Kiran, you’ll need to dry at least fifty ounces of mistletoe, crush them to make a tea. The mistletoe needs to cook for two days in a red pot. Never boiling, only simmering. After the two days are up (measure your time carefully, it must be exactly forty-eight hours) pour the liquid through a sift to separate the water and the mistletoe pieces. The clear liquid should be poured into blessed glass containers that seal with a rubber lid. You need to do this on a Thursday.

Phasma

Phasma

[Just tired] “Good then!” Johan said, “Worry just makes you loose your appetite.” He went to the stove and opened a pot. The scent of different herbs and spices filled the room. Seb closed his eyes and savoured the aroma of herbed potatoes. Johan placed a big plate in front of Seb and spooned a generous serving of potatoes on it. He then gave him some rolls while Dorin served him a big piece of roasted ribs, drizzling rich, hot gravy on top of it. [Thank you.] Seb wrote, [Both of you.]

At Arm's length

At Arm's length

Sewa's shouted as she came into the sitting room with a well ladened tray of fried potatoes and egg sauce. The worms in my tummy grumbled at the sight of the month watering food. Trust Sewa to always know the right food to prepare. She placed the tray on the table close to me and I dugged in immediately. "Thank you." I said with a mouthful. "You are always welcome, how is the taste?" she asked. "Delicious as usual, you never disappoint at all." I replied, giving her thumbs up. "Thank you, Bayo." she cooed softly.

Ikechukwu Williams
One of the most refreshing and heartwarming novels I've read. A real page turner, full of wit and humour, with very relatable characters. It successfully makes a captivating yet realistic depiction of young love within a modern Nigerian society.
Illustrious Joy
An inciting read with spurs of savory romance, humour and subtle wit. I so much love the bond between Adesewa and Kenechukwu. The writer's pen keeps brewing scintillating scenes about them that it leaves me with an insatiable urge for more chapters. Big ups to you dearie❤

Served on a Platter

Served on a Platter

Her warm breath brushed against my ear as she whispered, "Curtis, I'd have to test it out to know whether it's to my taste." Her hand slid down from my Adam's apple, eventually resting on my belt. She looked pleased. "Hmm... not bad." It suddenly clicked in my mind. This private chef job was about more than just cooking. I was the one being served, in a way I hadn't expected. I had seen people promoting their adult services online, and I had also seen job posts about private chefs, where a couple would usually show up to do actual cooking. I never expected to fall victim to this "false advertisement".

A Queen Among Tides

A Queen Among Tides

I give him a lopsided smile, “Don’t tell me you’ve actually used that line on people.” He snorts, “Give me a little credit, I have far better game than that. What’s for breakfast?” He asks. Once again I can sense his desire to hold and kiss me, nothing sexual, he just desperately wants to show me affection, but he’s holding himself back out of respect for my boundaries. It seems like such a nothing thing to do, and yet it means everything to me. “Tropical stuffed French toast with guava syrup,” Christos announces. “Um, yum. Why have you never made that before?” Sebastian asks suspiciously.

Another amazing book! I feel as though each book is my favorite in this series and I love the representation. This particular author has an amazing way of challenging vernacular and using it to empower her characters. Her world building has you vested in the outcome of the story and characters.

Another excellent book! I couldn't put it down that I finished reading it in a day. anxiously waiting for book 6 to finish--not a fan of cliffhangers:) Or I may go back and re-read the series while I wait.

“If I don’t it’ll stick, even with the sear.” “Very well then,” he stated with a sigh. To my surprise, he plucked the dispenser from my hand and sniffed it. He then poured a dollop onto his finger and popped the digit into his mouth. “I’m Eskal, by the way,” I looked at him irrediculously as he continued to grasp my olive oil, which prevented me from being able to sear the steak. “That way you at least know my name if I die of poisoning.” I crossed my arms over my chest. This man was ludicrous to the point of delirium. “Why would I poison anyone? “
