Zerina stirred as the baby kicked again, just beneath my ribs. Audrey’s voice was calm, but heavier than before. “Andy’s safe, child. He’s trapped the shadow in a vessel… and sealed himself inside with it. He’ll survive it. But for now, he’s… beyond reach.” Amy’s lips pressed together, but the tears fell anyway—silently sliding down her cheeks. She didn’t wipe them away. She giggles, and I hear Nadia growl behind me. I did answer Amy, but grabbed her by the neck. “Oh, don’t worry, I will make sure you won't enjoy it,” I tell her as I let shadow through enough to see that our claws grow on the other hand. I can see she tries very calmly, but her eyes betray her as I can see the fear in them. I smile evilly as she sees the claws, and I feel shadow look at her through my eyes. “Goodbye, Amy, may hell torture you,” I say, and even in my voice I hear Shadow.
