This condition can be triggered by trauma, stress, or psychological factors, and typically, the memories lost are those associated with emotionally distressing or significant experiences.

They didn't attack with claws; they struck with Amnesia. When a Shade touched a shifter, it didn't draw blood. It took away meaning. The victim would stumble back, their eyes turning gray, forgetting their name, their bonds, and eventually, their ability to maintain their form. In moments, a proud warrior would dissolve into a puddle of salt and static. "Don't let them touch you!" Kael roared, his obsidian blade glowing with a frantic, dying light. "They aren't physical! They're data-ghosts!"

All I knew was I was scared shitless of this beast in front of me. “Poor little Aria, a waste of space slut, good for nothing, I should’ve never kept you.” She spat vehemently, winding herself up further. “I thought about it all day and there’s no way you have amnesia; you’re still the same pathetic girl who can’t keep her legs closed. What a pity that you lied to me. I don’t know how you fooled the doctor and everyone else, but you can’t fool me little girl.” “I can’t remember fucking anything! You think this is some sick game I’m playing!” I yelled back after finding my inner strength.

"What's with the tone, Damian? Calvin was kind enough to pack up your things for you, but instead of thanking him, you're getting all sarcastic?" Calvin's eyes turned red with tears, and he ducked behind Dad like a wounded child. Seeing this, Anna snarled at me, "You meanie! Don't you dare pick on my dad! Get out of our house!" At that moment, I couldn't help but laugh. My heart shattered, and I couldn't stop shaking. Yvonne had stayed silent up until that moment. She fixed her depthless eyes on me and bit out, "You faked your memory loss, didn't you, Damian?"

It seemed his suspicions were not unfounded. Dr. Sandman went on, "It was a poison called Amni Poison. While it's not lethal, it disrupts the memory nerves of the victim, causing them to forget the people and events they care about the most. Moreover, if the victim forcefully tries to recall those forgotten memories, it leads to intense heartache. It's like a barrier in their memory; breaking through it only causes unbearable pain."

“You changed it.” “No,” Mara said. “Elena challenged its premise.” The shadow looked almost angry now. “You cannot repair the dead.” Elena's voice softened. “No.” “Then what responsibility remains?” “Memory.” Lily stepped forward. The shadow turned. She looked at the dead civilizations. “We remember them.” The shadow laughed. “Memory does not resurrect.” “No.” Lily's blue eyes hardened. “But forgetting them makes it easier to repeat what killed them.” The Seven Million Genesis consciousnesses responded.

Darren clenched the glass in his hand in anger and frustration. “The doctor said that Areiza has selective amnesia because of traumatic event that happened to her. She didn’t want to remember the past. Needless to say, she doesn’t remember you, the whole Venzor family, and even Aaron’s death. Darren, do you understand? You will only bring her pain and despair.” Hearing Dylan’s words, Darren felt an excruciating pain all over his body.

When she woke up, she groaned. “Well Claura, looks like you pissed off the wrong person. Philip? Of all people? Anyway, like Andre said, you have a new job and we will keep you for five years, since you like to sleep with men so much, this job won’t bother you.” The man nodded to someone and within minutes Claura was again drugged and taken away. When she woke up for a second time, bright lights flashed in her eyes and when she adjusted, she frowned.

What brings you here today?” he rephrased. That was more like it. “Anything troubling you?” he added. “No. It’s just that my pills ran out and it had been a while since you last examined me so I figured I should drop by,” Jessica responded. Dr Gupta looked away, in deep thought, and slowly nodded. He spent half his days preaching to his patients to get themselves checked as soon as they feel something odd. But this preventive visit troubled him. Jessica had been suffering with splitting headaches since her accident a year ago.

“So why don’t you go back there and…” “No,” his answer is sharp and instant. “Why?” “I’m not leaving you alone and unprotected to go on a field trip in my mind indefinitely.” “But you did it before…” “Before you were born. Listen, when I go back in there, a lot’s at stake. I’m taking Remus with me because without my soul, I’ll get lost in there and may not be able to find my way back. Remus is a map that I can’t do without when I’m there. Shadows are tricky and vicious, if I go there without my soul and a way back, they’ll kill me at best.
