My wolf howled, angry and feral, energy flaring in response. We couldn’t retreat. Not now. Not ever. The ground beneath me cracked violently, and a massive spike of dark energy erupted, aimed directly at my chest. I barely rolled aside, heart hammering but when I looked up, the shadow’s humanoid form was towering over me, fully solid, eyes glowing brighter than ever.

Are you trying to start a war?!” The voice that came from the shadow did not sound human with a mixture of male and female voices. It struggled as hard as it could, but that only seemed to amuse Suit, who did not have his attention on it/him/her in the slightest. He had gotten to an interesting point in what Anderson was doing, thus he had his attention on the screen, but his grip did not waver in the slightest.

' Umbra's voice rang through my head. 'He didn't have to be a d*ck about it.' 'I agree with Zerena.' Shade added. I think Shade just doesn't want to be on Umbra's side. I don't feel like Shade is all that enthused about Umbra joining us. I think that's odd though cause wouldn't Umbra be like some kind of god to shadows if it's the original shadow? 'Not a god, just the first shadow to be able to contract with humans. We learned how to do it from Umbra. That's all!' Shade explained, obviously hearing my thoughts.

Everyone nods, showing their crystals, and a witch pulls on a small back with spare clothes for me for when I’m back in human form. I go back behind a tree and strip down, tossing the things to her, and shifting into Shadow’s massive black form. Then I walk back, and some of the new allies yelp at the sight. Shadow barks a laugh, scent the air, and start down a trail that isn’t really a trail, the vision from Mara’s memories clear in his mind.
