As it hits the ground the old building quickly goes up in flames starting from the back of the building trapping Maya. Maya's mother frantically called for her daughter. All Maya could do was scream giving her mother her location. Using her magic Maya's mother worked to dispel the fire. The fire was working its way towards out of control and is just a little too big for one person to handle. Maya's mother is only able to keep the flames off her daughter. After what seemed like hours other members of the coven arrived and with their combined power were able to fully dispel the fire allowing Maya to run to the safety of her mother's arms. She suffered minor burns but was relatively unharmed.

She’s great with her magic and has a deep knowledge of plants and how to use and grow them. Ezekiel had stronger shadows, barely weakened by her flames. He and Shay would give us tips on when best to shoot her flames and where. Apparently, there were certain weak spots inside a shadow. I needed to find the spots that looked the lightest, ones that seemed more gray than black. If I shot my flames there, the shadow would disappear. It seemed simple enough, but most of the time, the shadows were so fast, there was no way for me to hit it before it hit me.
