By the time she returned, breathless and trembling, Xavier had retreated to his own suite. Chloe slumped against the wall, a cold sweat breaking out across her forehead. Talk about losing face! she thought. Why had she even let those things stay in her possession? She finished the rest of her unpacking at lightning speed, scrubbed herself clean in a hot shower to wash away the embarrassment, and finally climbed into bed beside the sleeping Liam Jr., seeking the only peace the house offered.

What’s wrong with me? I glanced around. The basement was dim, but too bright for the kind of shame I was sitting in. I was still here. Still in hisspace. And if he came back. I couldn’t handle another round. Not when my head was finally clear. I pushed myself off the floor, heart pounding as I tiptoed toward the door, ignoring how my legs still trembled beneath me. I just needed to get out. Right now. But then, a voice chained my feet and forced me to stop. A girl’s voice. Shouting. Angry. Fierce. It stopped me in my tracks. I stood frozen near the door, ears straining. Someone else was here. And from the sound of it, she wasn’t here by choice either. My shame faded just enough to make room

Chapter 13 Chloe I was so exhausted. There was nothing much more exhausting than scrubbing a house spotless. I had woken up, bored out of my mind and my face burning up in shame. I had let that bastard touch me, like a freaking wanton. I doubt I would ever live that down. I was very ashamed and that had to be the understatement of the year.

Chapter 2: Pain Chelsea remained motionless, embarrassment burning her cheeks. Her hands shook as she rubbed them on her apron, desperate to calm herself, but her stomach churned violently. The room felt suffocatingly quiet, as though all the air had been sucked out. She could feel eyes on her, gazes laced with judgment, pity, or even amusement. Her eyes darted to Adams, pleading silently for him to speak, to say something that could make this nightmare bearable. For years, he had been the man she adored, the one she believed would always stand by her. Surely, he wouldn’t just sit there and let this happen.

Chapter: 1 ******** “The Bond That Broke Me” I walked through the crowd, careful not to spill the drinks balanced on the tray in my hands. Laughter and chatter filled the air, blending with the clink of glasses and the rustle of silk ball gowns brushing against the polished floors. I tried not to look up, just focus on each step. One wrong move and the entire tray could crash to the ground. And wouldn’t they love that? A wave of anxiety rippled through me at the thought. The shame would sting, but the whispers would be worse. They already hated me enough.

Marcus' voice thundered in the empty hall. Struggling to regain my composure, I managed to lift my head, my eyes fixated on Marcus as he made his way out of the cafeteria. His figure gradually blurred as he retreated, but before he could disappear entirely, the words escaped my lips. “You are shameless.” Marcus halted in his tracks, startled. He turned around, his eyes filled with disbelief. “What did you just say?” Summoning every ounce of strength I had left, my voice emerged hoarse and feeble, “You are shameless,” I repeated, locking my gaze with his unwaveringly.

Shameless! I scrunch my face, clenching my jaw. He chuckles, getting up but I do not notice that before the words slip out of my mouth, “Now get up quickly!” “I’m doing the same. Can’t you see?” He growls annoyingly, making me even angrier. “No! I just see that you’re still hovering over me.” I decide to stay stubborn. He presses his lips together and does not budge. I frown at him. “What? Now get up!” I utter, pushing on his shoulder. But instead of paying any heed to me, he even leans closer.
