I shake my head truthfully, not entirely sure about anything right now. “You’re in the Luna City. I’m guessing this was where you and your friends were heading?” I nod once again while picking up my cutlery, continuing to listen attentively, “Well, my full name is Isaac Night-“ he looks at Mato who nods back, prompting him to continue, “-I’m the Beta of the Shadow Pack. Have you heard of us?”

If so, we’ll hunt them down until we catch them. “Tracker, I’m going to need you as backup monitoring Beta Squad,” I say, pulling up the security system in Yorick and Cyra’s pack and hacking in to it. “On it,” she says. With Hacker working with Alpha Squad, I have been working with Vivienne and her team, and, therefore, Beta Squad, acting as backup to Alpha Squad. Tracker has been splitting her time between tracking Stellan and helping me locate the dead she-wolf and her pup. I contacted Councilman Edward to let him know what Vivienne and her team found and got approval to send Beta Squad in to get their bodies.

She rolled her eyes at me, but a small smile graced her soft lips. “Each squad member has their own version of a Beta and Beta female if they are mated. Underneath them, some have Deltas and Gammas, so on and so forth. It’s really all based on their preferences. That way each sector can be run effectively. Each sector has essentially their own leadership. For example, Johnson oversees sector four. If the pack members have an issue, they go to him. He either deals with it himself or will loop Ethan and I in if need be.”

A new week came with a new administration. I hadn’t set eyes on Alpha Valens but I saw the changes. One by one, his men filled every top spot in the pack. Beta Jabari became the pack beta, a new witch who we didn’t know became the pack’s oracle, his men replaced the head warriors of each brigade and Skylar didn’t step on people as much as she used to.

They were in enemy territory, and they knew that the Shadow Fang Pack would not hesitate to attack if they were discovered. As Ryker and Rain continued to observe the Shadow Fang Pack's territory, they noticed something that caught their attention. A group of pack members, led by a tall, menacing figure, were gathered near the edge of the territory. Ryker's eyes narrowed as he watched the group. "Who's that?" he whispered to Rain, nodding towards the menacing figure. Rain followed Ryker's gaze and his eyes widened in recognition. "That's Victor's beta, Marcus," he said. "He's notorious for being ruthless and cunning."

She too was wearing a shorts and midriff blouse but looked nothing compared to my mate. "Carrie. Yes, this is Beta Gavin from the Black Shadow Pack and those are his men, they´ll be staying for a month to assist us." Alpha Caspian then turned his attention back to me, while the female named Carrie stepped forward towards us, behind her was another black-haired female. "This is Carrie, Beta Paul´s sister. And this one here is Daniella." Carrie smiled seductively and puffed up her chest, thinking she was making an impression. Unfortunately for her, my attention was elsewhere.

She smiled at me. “What’s your name?” Zoey asked. “My name is Vicky. My chosen is Beta Brandon of the Red River Pack.” I looked back, and I could still see Maddox - he was trying to lick his arm while curses and vile words were spewing out of his mouth. “My name is Catherine, and this is Zoey.” This time, I let a real smile curl on my lips as I looked at the two females with me. “We will all become Beta Females soon.”

I playfully nudge his arm and when his focus shifts to me, I mouth, “Stop it. It isn’t funny.” His smile widens a bit as he shakes his head and mouths back, “I can’t help it. They are funny.” Well, I can’t argue with him about that. These two have always had some sort of weird connection with each other. Before I can respond, Shane clears his throat and pulls our attention back to my phone. “Alpha Mike has offered me his beta position, and I have accepted. You are talking to the new beta for Dark Moon pack.”
