Shawn snarled and Faye looked up from her dolls, watching them in curiosity. The women ignored him. Okay, I am going there right now.” “What is it?” Her friend asked. “Shane O'Bry. Martha just told me that they went for the King and Queen competition!”

Until I came across one, I couldn’t shake. Long brown hair flowed down, down, down. A woman in what looked like a lake reached for Shane. Her fingers brushed against an inked chest as he stared down at her. There was so much love in his gaze, it made my chest twang with a pain I couldn’t understand. These are familiar, but that’s all wrong because I don’t recall this. Even if Shane was telling the truth about the past lives thing, would it make sense for him to remember and for me not to?

I rounded the corner, taken aback in awe by the beauty of the looming mountain. I heard a crunch of leaves and snow behind me and jumped in fright. Turning, I was surprised to see Shauna. "What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be in the meeting?" I asked. Shauna shook her head, "I'm a vet. I don't get much say in any of this. I'm just here to make sure that nobody dies." She pulled out a box of cigarettes and lit one. I raised my brows, "A doctor smoking? Didn't expect that."

She was recognizable, of course. Being Holland Flanagan’s wife, and being such influential people with their Foundation, and being on the news several times, meant people whispered when she passed, heads turning as she leaned over a table of tomatoes or compared cuts of meat. But even though she had every reason to be a proud woman, Shauna had a way of smiling that put people at ease, as if she wasn’t someone living in one of the city’s largest homes but just another woman running her errands. She waved off a vendor who tried to overstuff her basket, teasing him about trying to break her arms with kindness.

Aurora felt that this evening was really interesting. She got to know a lot of Shawn’s little secrets. Of course the most interesting thing was that Shawn didn't even know that Danica was a woman. As a psychiatrist, Shawn was the best at reading people. But he couldn't even tell that Danica was a woman. ********* Later on, Aurora went to Damon’s office at night and even told him about the incident. Shawna gushed as she stood up and placed the magazine back on the desk before firmly grasping Scarlett's hand. "She's Mrs Hawthorne," said Scarlett, waving at Marybeth. "I'm so sorry, my mistake," Shawn apologised with a brilliant smile. Nodding at the magazine, she continued, "I hope you don't mind that I kept myself entertained." "Of course not!" Marybeth lied as she glanced around the room, making sure everything was in its place. She relaxed visibly, relieved that nothing important, like Iris' file and papers detailing Austin's shady business dealings, had been left in the open.
