I nodded to Xavier, he had every right to hate me, and if that made him feel better, then I would take it. I closed my eyes as he raised the knife and waited for him to plunge it deep into my chest. I scoffed, adjusting my position in his lap. I resisted smirking as he gulped. Yeah, there’s no hiding his physical reaction as it tried to reach me through his jeans. He better not think he’s getting anywhere. I have zero intentions of sleeping with this Hunter. “Speak. Who hunts you? And why?” I repeated using a more seducing voice as I trailed my finger along his jaw.

"Keep it steady!" I regained my footing between the bags, aimed, then took another two shots. One hit his upper arm, the other his shoulder, but he kept coming, unfazed by the gushing holes. I shifted my weight onto my other foot and grinned. I might not have stopped him, but the Thornblood dipped bullets had punctured him, binding shade and host to the same satisfying fate. I fired one last time, hitting him strait between his soulless eyes.

'No way! *** Flint and Kasper stayed for another day in the human world. It seems that the hunter already knows their identity but she still didn't make a move. They are observing and following her but she just continues to live her normal life. Both of them are puzzled about the things she will do. But most importantly, Kasper was confused. 'What am I feeling towards her? This only happens to a werewolf when they meet their mate... Is the hunter... my mate? That can't be!'

"I have a lot that I need to explain to you, and I don't want to overwhelm you. She took a deep breath and nodded at me to continue. "As I said before, I am a hunter in an organization called The Vindicta. I have been training since I was ten years old. My parents were killed in an attack by a rogue werewolf and Liam, and I were rescued by Ard’al. He took us in and was a father to us. When it came time for the trials I won. I became a hunter and I've been going on mission after mission ever since. Ard’al told me when I became a hunter that we all have one destined person, a soul mate. We already have a bond, but it won't fully form until we accept each other completely."

he said, and I looked at him, surprised. "Yep, I tested her, and she passed. She is John Hunter's daughter, alright. Her brain is like her father's brain. Her memory is unbeatable." He confirmed. "How?" I asked. "She read and summarised six hunter's grimoires in two days. She can tell you everything about eliminating werewolves, vampires, and witches. Her assimilation skill is very high. Are you sure you want me to train her because once that dam is opened, there will be no shutting it?" He said, and I stared at him, thinking, how could a human being read and summarise six grimoires in two days? I was proud of Karen.

He gives me a worried look so I mindlinked him. ‘It’s okay, she’s not dangerous.’ I tell him and he furrowed his brows but nods. I looked over to Syria’s direction. ‘She’s a shifter, a dragon shifter,’ I finish my words and Hunter grabbed my arm and looked me in the eye. ‘Are you certain?’ He asked through mindlink. I nodded in reply and he let go of my arm, glancing at the woman named Syria. ‘How?’ He asked.

His words sound like another level of discussion. " How did you get to know Shawn this much?" " She's my step sister's best friend from the other town. My point is she just lost a baby, and you're bothered on how I got to know her?" His brow raising in confusion. " Yes, because I see no reason why you'd bother yourself with such a low life" " Hunter, you raped an innocent girl and she gave birth for you. Now she lost a kid and you're more concerned about why I care about her!?" I could literally see venom drip from his words.

"Dean." I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling gnawing at me. Were they werewolves, vampires, or maybe hybrids like Hunter? The thought dug at me, more than it should’ve. I tried reading them, the way I used to with my wolf senses, but without my wolf, it was like trying to see through fog. So fucking useless.
