It takes a minute before she tries again, turning slowly to peek in my direction. I keep my eyes closed. Not ready to deal with whatever this moment could become. Not ready for the questions her face might be holding. But I feel her gaze. Not fleeting. Not shy. She's staring. Probably dissecting me like a damn psychology project. I wait. She's still staring.

Eventually, she looked up, meeting my gaze. She paused mid-bite, her spoon inches from her lips. “What?” she raised her eyebrows, her stare intense and filled with curiosity. I didn’t say anything at first. I simply stared at her, lost in how peaceful she felt to my soul. “Yeah, I know. I get alot of stares from men, but yours creeeps me out.“ She grumbled, returning back to eating peacefully and I snapped out of my I shouldn't be staring at her in such way. "No, it's you who's staring at me with a sharp look!" her angry voice shrieked. "Oh, sure." I smiled at her sweetly, and she let out a heavy sigh.
