My mouth fell open as amazement took me again. Mr. Assistant made exactly what I wanted to happen at my request. Every move of Sophia and Death slowed down as I watched them. Sophia’s shield was torn to shreds and her armor and spear were gone but she continued to advance in battle. She now punches Death and the latter is unable to make any counter attack. She's really cool and strong for a beautiful woman like her.

Because I had moved, I was also close to him. The three of us formed a deadly triangle. The Flesh Bomb landed right in the middle of us. Time stopped. Cedric saw the bomb. His eyes shot first to the terrified Elsie. Then to me. He had one second. He made his choice. Without hesitation, he launched himself toward Elsie in a blur of blood, shielding her with his body and a blood-curse shield. As he lunged for her, he used the floor beside me as a springboard. I retorted back. It was time to put our plan into action. I snapped my fingers together and some of my chosen warriors instantly shifted, making ranks. No one feared the guns and silver bullets for the enemy was unaware of my newfound healing ability. Asher protectively covered me with his body as I unwillingly gave the order. "Attackkkk!"

His dark, soulless eyes pierced straight through me, and an uncontrollable tremor shook my limbs as a sadistic smirk stretched across his lips. "You are coming right back home to me, Raegan," he sneered. Before the words could fully process, a sharp, white-hot flash of agony exploded in my abdomen as his fist struck my stomach with brutal force. His mocking laughter echoed through the empty lot as my vision began to fracture. I felt my weakened body being lifted off the ground, and right before the suffocating darkness completely swallowed my consciousness, I managed to force a final, venomous phrase past my lips. "Fuck you... Archie."

Shilhi feigned concern, “But we were only getting started. She wouldn’t die. At least not yet. She’s a hybrid now, remember? So she has super healing abilities. No need to be scared. Okay?” Before I could speak, Shilhi sliced down the arm of Ithra, causing a painful hiss to leave the lips of Ithra and blood poured out. “Did I forget to tell you?” She gasped, “This knife is designed to destroy even the most powerful creature on earth. So it should work well against her heightened healing. But not to worry, I’ll make sure that she doesn’t die. At least not yet.”

He was trying to build a wall around the only piece of us that was left. "He’s protecting the asset," I lied. "He’s protecting you," Dominic corrected, his voice turning dark. "And that’s a problem. Because as long as he’s protecting you, he’s a threat to our control. If something were to... happen to him, the Shield would pass entirely to you. No more friction. No more silent wars." Dominic spun me around, and for a second, I saw Silas across the room. He wasn't talking to union reps. He was standing perfectly still, his eyes fixed on Dominic’s hand on my waist. His jaw was so tight I thought it might shatter.

The shield held but cracked like glass under pressure. Not enough. I added Tear power. The shield strengthened, ice-blue coating spreading across the silver surface. Reinforcing. Stabilizing. The monster hit again. Full force. Both fists together. This time, the shield held. Barely. Hairline fractures are spreading across its surface, but not breaking. But the impact sent me sliding backward. My feet left trenches in the earth. Stopped only when I hit the energy wall. Trapped. Backed against the cage wall. Nowhere left to run.

Shaan flew backwards but remained steady and in her way. “Now you’re getting the hang of it,” Shaan smirked before firing energy balls at her, forcing her to fly backwards. While Sikandar was still recovering, Aarif raised earthen spikes from the ground to skewer him, but Sikandar allowed them to phase through him. ‘What just happened? Why didn’t my knife cut through his armor?’ Sikandar wondered as he stood up. Beheading is not very PG-13. So I made it so that Aarif’s armor could block your attack.

Even I, if I were him, I wouldn't believe me either. The shield that was created by my unconscious sister started fading, and both of Chris and Earl got themselves ready to escape the lake. Chirs lift up Stephany between his hands, while Earl stands before them protectively. They both were ready to die while protecting her, and no one was ready to even stand by my side. The moment the shield was completely gone, Chris used his gifted - the illusion to duplicate them all. In a while, there were too many of them. The next while, it was only me. I was left alone.

Fortunately she had excellent reflexes and wasn’t injured, her fire shield having completely absorbed the shock and having allowed her to break her fall. When she got up and made her fire shield disappear with only a wave of her hand, she saw the stunned look on the boys' faces.
