I'm not ready. "Don't resist it. Breathe and let your body do its job. It won't hurt as much if you try to relax. Next time won't be nearly as bad." Val remains in her human form, and Tae helps me out of my chair. My vision blurs, and the fire in my joints rolls down my limbs and up my spine. My jaws throb, and my fingers pop. The skin from his shoulder, up his neck and onto his jaw is glowing. If he shifts in here Imelda will be hurt. We are packed in tightly as it is without Gabe’s giant wolf. Ezekiel is one of the most restrained wolves I’ve come across, but he is struggling right now. The shifting process triggers muscle tissue and bone regeneration, so when we are injured, shifting helps speed up the healing process.
