My sundress clung to my skin from the humidity, the thin fabric doing nothing to hide how my nipples had stayed hard since the pool earlier. Tyler grinned wide, already slurring a bit as he slammed back the fresh drink. “Nah, baby, we’re celebrating! Honeymoon rules. Kyle, remember that time in college when you got so fucked up you tried to piss in the RA’s fridge?” He burst out laughing, loud enough that heads turned at nearby tables, slapping his brother on the arm. Kyle leaned back in his chair, that cocky smirk never leaving his face, his eyes locked on me across the table like he could see straight through my dress.

I took a cautious sip, and to my surprise, it didn’t taste terrible! I raised my eyebrows, glancing at Conor, who had a smug grin on his face. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. After a few more sips, the tension started to melt away. We completely forgot about the mate bond and began teasing Shortie about his thinning hair. The atmosphere grew light and easy as we all started laughing together. Shortie joked about getting some plugs so the ladies would have something to play with, which sent Conor into a fit of laughter, beer spraying out of his mouth.

Besides getting out of the city, as small as it was, was still a treat. We had a great time swimming, playing and hiking, our hard, youthful bodies tanning in the warmth of the sun. Sitting around the campfire that evening we told jokes and cuddled each other against the cool night air, telling jokes and roasting marshmallows. When it came time to go to bed the four of us had to share one small tent, crowded but cozy. Somehow, I ended up in the middle between Marie and Danny's girlfriend, Deanna. After a bit of talk and laughter we turned out the lantern and drifted off to a peaceful sleep.

His eyes were bristling with anger while he said this because he couldn’t tolerate Caroline’s rude behavior. “You have time to decide till tomorrow! I reply putting on a fake sad expression. "Well, if you think of any other funny stories, you'll have to share them with me," Iskander says smiling. "You're a really good storyteller." "Thanks," I say, feeling a warm glow of happiness. "It's nice to laugh and have fun. I haven't had that in a while." "That's why I'm here," Iskander says, giving me a big smile. "To make sure you have a good time." I smile back at him, feeling grateful for his friendship. "Thanks, Iskander. That means a lot to me."

Shantelle frowned and fished through her brain. She replied, "Ah, December because of the holidays?" "No, Mommy, it's February. It's the shortest month!" Lucas answered, and he laughed again. "Did your daddy teach you this?" Shantelle asked. "He did. Daddy gave me a book about jokes and riddles!" Lucas revealed before going to his bedside table and opening the drawer. He gave the small book to Shantelle and presented, "Daddy said laughter is the best medicine!"

I bit my lower lip, unable to look away. "Stop distracting him," Natasha muttered, but I was too far gone. "How long do you think he'd last?" she whispered, and I couldn't help the laugh that escaped me. The class went silent, and every eye turned to us. "You," Mr. Gorgeous said, pointing directly at me. My heart sank. "On your feet. Care to share with the rest of the class what's so funny?" I stood, my face burning, my mind completely blank. "I think we're done for today," he said, closing his laptop with a decisive click. He addressed the class, but his eyes stayed on me.

The room erupted in cheers and claps, like it was the funniest thing they’d seen all night, and I felt my breath catch in my throat as I watched. It didn’t stop there. The next hand went down, and another guy had to peel off his pants, standing there in his boxers while the group razzed him about his skinny legs.
