Short Bedtime Stories For Adults Novels & Stories

Sleep was seldom elusive for Ash. The comforting presence of Julie, nestled beside him each night, typically lulled him into a peaceful slumber. Tonight, however, was an exception. The clock had struck eleven, and sleep remained a distant dream, an anomaly in his otherwise predictable routine. Ash, being a mature man, was naturally attuned to Julie's actions, especially when they deviated from the norm. Her recent indulgence in animated adult content, and her unabashed sharing of the details, had certainly been out of the ordinary. The fact that she had chosen to share this just before bedtime had left him feeling somewhat unsettled. It would have been strange if he hadn't reacted at all.

I whispered with a loving smile, "which story would you like tonight?" Mathew's face lit up with excitement, his tiny hands reaching for his favorite book. "The one about the brave little wolf, Mumma!" I chuckled as I opened the book, a captivating story about a young wolf's grand adventure. Mathew listened with rapt attention, his eager eyes fixed on the pages as I spun the tale of bravery and exploration. By the time I reached the part where the little wolf found solace under the silvery glow of the moon, my son was already fast asleep.

"When our mom left. He couldn't sleep. The sound of a voice... it helps." I looked at this man—this powerful, intimidating billionaire—standing shirtless in a guest room at 2:00 AM, offering to read me a bedtime story to help me sleep. My heart cracked open a little wider. "Yes," I whispered. "Please." He dragged the armchair closer to the bed. He grabbed the book I had been struggling with—a dense sci-fi novel—and opened it to the bookmark. He started to read. His voice was deep, rhythmic, soothing. It wasn't the voice of the CEO. It was the voice of Noah.

Mike listened with rapt attention, his eager eyes fixed on the pages as I spun the tale of bravery and exploration. My boys glance over at each other while holding out one of their favourite bedtime storybooks, disappointment all over their face, Neo wraps his arms around the book and pouts. “I don’t wanna grow up,” Neo says, his eyes teary as he starts to whimper, “I just want a bedtime story,” he tells me, his tears already getting the book wet. Plop! I feel my bed press down and turn to find Ash who’s helped himself on the bed, “if you won’t be telling us a story then I’ll stay here with you,” my grumpy young man says, staring off into the far end as he murmurs. “Alright, alright, I’ll read you a bedtime story,” I agree, and at once their faces turn bright, Ash stands on my bed, he’s jumping excitedly

Just as he approached a room’s doorway, he heard Tina and Kara’s conversation drifting from inside the room. “Tonight’s bedtime story is called ‘Tadpoles Searching for Their Mommy.’ The warm spring is here… A bunch of little tadpoles want to look for their mommy… After overcoming all the obstacles, the little tadpoles finally found their froggy mommy. Together, they lived happily ever after…” Tina’s tone was gentle as she read the bedtime story out loud from the storybook to her daughter. Kara lay in her arms, her heavy eyelids already glued together. She struggled to say, “The little tadpoles are very pitiful… I won’t be separated from you, Mommy… Even if we do get separated, I’ll find you

I nodded and followed her to our little angels' room. Samantha tucked in Poppy, and I tucked in Violet. Poppy and Violet couldn't sleep without listening to bedtime stories, especially Poppy. I brought out the story we'd be reading tonight, "The Christmas Cookie," since Christmas was just a few weeks away. Samantha and I started reading the story, making it more real by adding sound effects with our mouths. Our little angels giggled, "awwn" ed, and pouted their lips until they fell asleep.

"What story would you like to hear today?" Garret seemed to ponder for a moment before answering, "About Pinocchio?" Lyyana nodded and smiled. Lyyana then began to read a bedtime story from the book of 1001 bedtime stories. Lyyana was very good at reading stories; she played with her voice and tone, making Garret look so enthusiastic listening to the story she brought. Occasionally, Lyyana's storytelling was interrupted by Garret's questions. Without Lyyana realizing it, a man was recording Lyyana's activities and sending it to their superior.

“Because your body needs sleep to grow and be healthy.” “Why?” “Because that’s how bodies work. Sleep is when you grow.” “Why?” “Charlotte, no more ‘why.’ It’s bedtime.” “But WHY is it bedtime?” “Because I said so. That’s the final answer.” Seraphine deployed parental authority when logic failed. “That’s not a good answer!” Charlotte protested. “It’s the answer you’re getting. Now pick two books for bedtime stories.” After Charlotte was finally asleep a process that took forty-five minutes and three negotiations Seraphine collapsed on the couch with Damien.

he murmured, writing it like it was a mission objective. She watched him. Focused. Serious. Intent. Like a determined father trying to memorize a world he had missed. “And he likes stories before sleeping,” she added softly. Reid paused at that. “What kind?” “Adventures. Brave heroes. Silly monsters. Anything where someone protects someone else.” He nodded slowly and wrote: Bedtime stories – protective theme. The room felt different now. Not heavy. Not tense. But quiet. “You already had lists for me too?” she asked after a moment.
