“Seriously Ashley, I might get upset if you go through my messages.” “Dumb boy messages, just let go of me, I don't care anymore.” “Promise?” “Yeah.” She scoffed and he did, she didn't try taking the phone again and he lay beside her. “You should be sleeping, it's late already.” “I know and am exhausted, but I can't seem to fall asleep. Can you tell me a bedtime story?” “Bedtime stories are for kids, not twenty-one-year-olds.” “Just tell me one.” “Okay, I don't really know much so how about I tell you the story of a demon who has lived for over a thousand years.”

Tobias wrapped large arm around my waist, pulling my body to his chest. He dropped sweet and soft kisses on my shoulder and neck. "That was fantastic, babe," he said as he ran his fingers through my hair. "Hmmm," I responded, too tired to talk. "How about we go again?" He asked as he started kissing my chest and breast. Oh fuck. We fucked for hours until we dropped from exhaustion and fell asleep. The following day I woke up late, and by the time I got to work, my boss was breathing down my neck. “What time do you fucking call this, Janet?” My boss shouts at me.

"I've been trying really hard, but I can't fall asleep. I don't know why, but I suddenly have insomnia." Yaslyn knew that deep down, it was probably because Xoan was in the room, making her feel uneasy. However, she did not dare to say it, fearing that he would be angered. "What should we do then?" Yaslyn thought for a while and suddenly had an idea. "How about you tell me a story?" "I don't know any stories." "When I couldn't fall sleep as a child, my dad would always tell me stories to put me to sleep."

Then, in a low, even voice, she began telling stories. She told five. Thomas didn't seem remotely sleepy. In the past, by the third story, Theo would already have been asleep. But she knew better than to compare Thomas to him. Thomas's insomnia ran deep; his body and mind refused to rest easily. Patient as ever, Sharon kept going. She had prepared around thirty bedtime stories that night. If none of them worked, she would simply try another approach tomorrow. But the truth was—she hadn't slept much the night before, keeping vigil over him. Now, lulled by her own soft cadence and the drowsy pull of her words, she began to nod off mid-sentence.

My mood changed drastically and Sebastian noticed this. He asked what was wrong with me and I didn't know if it was a good idea to tell him what was happening to me. -It's hard to explain. -You didn't sleep very well, did you? -Is it that noticeable? -Why can't you sleep, is something bothering you? -No, it's just that I can't get to sleep. -But I can tell you're tired, tell me what's wrong. -It's hard to explain. -I know I shouldn't interfere but it's wrong that you don't sleep, you're affecting your health.

Their eyes drooped with sleep but the bedtime story reading was a ritual we all looked forward to. I sat beside them, reading Ria's favourite story about a frog that travelled to the North Pole this time. Halfway through the story, the kids fell asleep. Smiling gently, I bent over and kissed them, whispering a Buddhist chant for peace. Waves of exhaustion flooded me. The day had been stressful. Stretching my arms above my head tiredly I rolled my hips. A sudden mild flutter in my stomach reminded me of my situation and my hands went to my belly as I winced. Then I straightened and turned and almost leaped out of my skin.

He said, "Babe, go to bed now and put your phone beside you. I want to tell a bedtime story to our babies." Lucy blushed. "Okay." She placed her phone on the bedside table, and Tobias told his story. He narrated it like he was chairing a business meeting. When Lucy heard it, she wanted to laugh. Then, she felt sleepy and slowly drifted off. After a long time, Tobias finished his story and said, "Are you listening, babe? Babe? Are you asleep?" He heard Lucy's steady breathing. He was on his bed, imagining Lucy by his side. A blissful smile spread across his face. Without him knowing, he drifted off to sleep as well.

She opened the storybook and started reading the story to them. 5 minutes later, Mr.Jeffery was long gone into slumberland. With his head on the table glued to the papers scattered everywhere on his desk, he was fast asleep. Aunt Leah on the other hand got bored with the kids' bedtime story that she fell asleep in no time as well. Darcie was the first to notice she was fast asleep, she then tap the rest gently to get out of bed and go look for the phone. They got down from the bed tiptoeing around.

She kissed Angel's cheek and said, "I'm going up to my room for now. Enjoy yourselves." As Paris walked away, Angel laid on the bed while still holding her teddy, waiting for me to tell her a bedtime story. I didn't know what to say as I had no idea if the stories I had in mind were ideal for her age. I finally had an idea and quickly checked the Internet for suggestions. Angel reached out both her hands and held one of mine as I began to tell her a story. In no time, she had fallen asleep. However, I continued to speak until I was done with the story.

he says firmly. Part of me is thrilled to still have a therapist, while another part of me could do without the parental lecture regarding my behavior. “We will bump you back up to weekly appointments until you feel like you have more control. As for the sleeping, I recommend finding a book to read before bed.” “A book?” I interrupt. “Yes. Pick something that interests you and designate an hour before bed to read. Screens can keep your brain overstimulated and make it difficult to fall asleep,” he explains, glancing at his watch.
