Her voice was soft and soothing, painting pictures of castles and dragons in the boy's imagination. Within minutes, Bernard's eyelids grew heavy, and soon he was fast asleep. She kissed his forehead gently, turned off the main light, and stepped out of the room, closing the door quietly behind her.
