He spanked one of the girls on their backside, laughing like a king in his own kingdom. Pathetic. My finger rested on the trigger, the crosshairs resting perfectly on his chest. One move and his life would be over. One shot. That was all it took. The glass shattered. Parker’s body jerked violently and he slumped back into his chair. The girls around him screamed as blood spilled down his shirt. I didn’t wait to admire my work. I broke down the rifle with practiced speed and slid the pieces back into my bag. Then I slipped down the roof and made my way back to my car.

VALERIAN’S POV Sophia leaped, halfway across the room before the door even hit the wall. I was in a blink of time behind her, leaping for the opposite corner. There was a large bed in the room, two thin and bloody bodies on it, and two shifters were on the other side, huddled in corners, guns in hand. I saw the male's fire, time slowed and the bright flash of a shotgun was aimed in my direction. I felt the silver shot graze my ribs but I ignored it, the pain negligible and I forgot about the minor injury as his clawed hands sank knuckle-deep into the man's torso and arms.

Third person's Pov. "Vera, you shouldn't be here," Luan said, his voice firm but not harsh. His eyes were locked on Vera who just stood there beside the door, frozen in place. He had no idea what was going through her mind, but he knew this wasn't going to be easy for Vera to take in. The sight was gruesome enough coupled with the fact that she had just witnessed him shoot another person dead. Vera's eyes were still fixed on the bodies on the floor, her hand covering her mouth. She didn't move, she didn't even speak, she just stood there staring at what was in front of her.

The target — a mannequin wearing an outdated vest at 800 meters — was a joke. I took a deep breath, feeling the deadly calm that always came over me in these moments. Gunpowder was my meditation. The shot echoed across the field. A second later, the mannequin jerked violently. The projectile had pierced the vest like butter, straight through what would have been the heart.

Cautious not to make a sound, and make my presence known, I slowly make my way towards the old shack. I take another moment to regain my senses. Xavier's familiar scent gets stronger near the back of the shack. So instead, I go in the shack, making my way up to the top level. I keep my guard, as I look for a vantage point. I can see some holes spouting through the old timber of the building. I make my way to the first hole, and peer out. I can see Xavier out the corner, crouching behind one of the old cars. SNOW POV: Chris and I got out of the car and walked into the warehouse , as we approached the men they saw us and a shootout occurred.
