I raise my hands, my glow intensifying, but it’s not enough. The darkness wraps around Silas, pulling him toward the rift. “No!” I scream, lunging for him. The Shadow’s laughter echoes as the rift closes, Silas’s form disappearing into the void.

Hyacinth I was playing a dangerous game. Silas and I had been careful—too careful. But that didn’t change the fact that, behind closed doors, away from prying eyes, we were slipping. Every stolen glance, every lingering touch, every whispered word in the dead of night pulled us further into something we couldn’t name. Something we couldn’t stop. The fortress that was Alpha Gerald’s estate had too many eyes, too many ears. Yet somehow, in the chaos of running a pack, in the shadows of responsibility, we found slivers of time. Moments that shouldn’t have existed but did.

Days turned into weeks with no sign of Ava's return. Chloe paced anxiously at the forest's edge, clinging to the belief that Ava would triumph and their reunion would end this ordeal. Yet beneath her hope lurked a gnawing fear—that Ava might be lost forever, consumed by the darkness that haunted them. In the depths of the forest, whispers began to echo among the dense trees, a voice Chloe recognized but distorted by an eerie resonance. The spirit shuddered in fright as the cold gaze forcefully put her into silence. She hurled in the corner, trembling as the eyes coldly watched her. The spirit can’t take it anymore and finally fainted in fright. The eyes then closed themselves again. Hellion paused, sensing that the spirit didn’t made a noise anymore. She quietly sat up, wiped her tears with the back of her hand as she basked herself into the silence. Hellion stared in the empty darkness, sad. She wanted to sleep and thus she forced herself to sleep but the mood wasn’t there anymore. She sighed softly in her heart and looked into the abyss, dazed.

“Fuck me like I’m your girlfriend.” I was pretty sure I heard another moan from the other room and then that was it. Willow would not leave my mind. Flashes of her in her bikini danced in my mind and how I had pinned her down earlier. Thinking of her body under mine made me shiver with pleasure. I could hear Shauna moaning, but I hardly registered it. My mind was caught in a fantasy. I started sucking on her neck as I pushed as deep inside of her I could. “Faster,” She breathed. “And harder.”

Talia had been lazily muching on a fry and she gave a startled yelp as her sister’s elbow dug in her stomach. “Ouch” Clarissa glared at her and Talia responded, “Yes, yes, we are coming with you whether you like it or not” I let out a sigh and rubbed my temples. I had always known that girls were foolish and always decided by using their hearts but these two were very stubborn. I mentally slapped Silas for being injured and leaving me with two whiners. Shadow took the opportunity to whisper in my mind, “then why did you even share the details of the file with them?”

9th January 2000 Aanya’s POV: I tossed and turned in bed, restless, my mind loud and unwilling to sleep. Thoughts swirled endlessly - what would happen if I truly fell for him? Would he hold on to me? Or would it be another one-sided story in a life already full of them? Would we be able to rewrite the terms of our marriage, start over as something real? Or would he simply disappear, leaving me stranded, just like the others - present one moment, gone the next, without a trace?

I can’t believe she still fucking loves that damn vampire. She remembers him over her own family and friend. Well now she thinks he’s dead. It won’t be as much of a blow once she remembers again. This memory loss could be my ticket to success. Maybe I … “Hey!” I was roughly turned around. The stupid hunter, why is he meddling, we signed a contract. “Why did you tell her that? You upset her.”

Silius was the one who lay awake hoping to catch even the smallest glimpse of him, some proof that he still existed somewhere in the world, thinking of him the way Silius thought of him. He let out a long breath, the kind that carried the weight of eight years behind it. "I swear to god I'll kill you if you sigh one more time," Rile said, not even looking up. Silius opened his mouth to protest and let out another one instead — helpless, involuntary. "Ughh… I can't even sigh now?" He dropped his head onto the table between them, forehead pressed to the cool wood, and let out a low whine for good measure, if only to annoy her properly.
