SILVER PACT
At the center lay what looked like a mirror, half-buried and radiant, its surface rippling as though alive.
Siran knelt, brushing away the sand. “This is not glass… it’s crystallized bloom-thread.” She placed her palm upon it, and the surface rippled outward like water.
A thousand reflections shimmered across its face her own image fracturing into others: younger, older, and… unfamiliar.
One reflection stared back with eyes of liquid silver. It smiled, faintly.
You came back.
Siran staggered backward. “Who said that?”
I did.
The voice came not from the air, but from within her own thoughts. It was gentle, echoing, uncertain. You are part of what I am. The memory that still moves.
