(Amber's POV) The first snowfall of winter blanketed Silvercrest City in a pristine white coat. I lay in the hospital bed, my body still fighting the effects of acute silver poisoning. She flew into a rage and shot a ball of fire towards him. It landed on his body and vanished up in smoke.

My voice, now his, fills the room—rich, velvety, commanding. “Silver should be dominant.” Silence. Cassidy blinks, then glares. “Aries, if you’re going to hijack Delilah’s body, at least say hello first.” Aries chuckles through my lips. “Hello, little human.” Alma crosses her arms. “Why silver?” My lips curve into a smirk. “Silver is the color of the moon, the bond that ties mates.
