Simple English Books To Read Novels & Stories

Ashley's POV I walked over to the reading corner in the orphanage and picked up a brightly colored picture book. Its pages were filled with cute animals and simple drawings—the kind of content the kids could easily follow. I lowered myself onto the floor on the other side of the group. "Hey, kids," I said softly, a smile warming my voice. A few of them turned toward me. I opened the book and began reading in a relaxed, natural tone. "Once upon a time, there was a little bunny who absolutely loved carrots."

Picking up an apple, Willow opened her speech draft and read it word by word. I watched her from the side. Even though Willow recognized a lot of words, she still didn't know many others. She turned to look at me. Instead of telling her how to read the words, I spelled out the words and taught her slowly. She started practicing the draft with pauses in between. By the time she read it fluently and memorized it completely, she put it down. She quickly finished her apple and then turned to me, saying, "Mommy, can you and Daddy buy some elementary school textbooks for me?"

Ella POV. I fell asleep between them drinking my warm milk, I was never this warm or full in so long. I woke up still in their arms, I loved that daddy read me to sleep, I love stories, books, and he's the best story reader ever, he did the voices and everything.

I should keep calm. His children came, twice before the end of July. They were very happy to see her and vice versa. On the second occasion, Anuri gave both of them story books, beautifully illustrated. Kelechi got Pinocchio and the Beauty and the Beast. Ola got Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. How happy they were. Of course, someone would guide them in reading the very simple English in which they were written. But merely gazing at the illustrations made them happy. 'Oh, K.C., see Rose dancing with the prince,' said Ola lightly. 'Pooh, see the ugly witch.' She frowned.

Mila could not help but smile at how adorable she was. "Look, if you want my advice, don't do anything you don't like to impress anyone. If you want me to suggest you a couple of good books I don't mind, but you have to love reading so you can enjoy it," Mila spoke. The girl sighed and looked down for a few moments then looked back up at Mila. "You think so?" she asked quietly and Mila nodded with a smile on her face. "Okay, but my mum wants me to give reading a try so...can you recommend me some easy books? Something that won't bore me," the girl requested and Mila nodded.

She soaked it in water, added the little sugar she could find and drank it hungrily. After the light meal, she brought out a storybook from her school bag and opened it. She smiled and remembered Bukky’s word – ‘Life is too simple to worry yourself about studying…’ She smiled again and afterwards slept off without reading a word in the book she was holding. All she dreamt about was a fun filled evening when Bukky arrives.

There were pictures in it. An apple on the first page, a ball on the second, a cat on the third... a basic kid’s learn to read book. “We don’t have time to learn your language now. Just read them for us.” Grayson shook his head. “That’s not how it works.”
