He had realized that no matter what was happening, he needed to understand the situation he was in, and since it seemed he wasn't in any immediate danger, he had decided to calm down and focus.

The day my boyfriend, Lucian Farrell, and I, Roxanne Schmidt, decide to register our marriage, the million-dollar diamond ring he'd promised me turns into a can tab. "Are you sure you want to deregister everything that has to do with you, Ms. Shaw? Once it's all settled, you will essentially cease to exist. No one will be able to trace you."
