This sounds interesting.” Nelson’s smirk deepened, his eyes flicking between me and Jameson with wicked intent. “It’s a secret between us, mum." Jameson and I locked eyes from across the living room. The guilt of lying to my parents while sitting there freshly fucked by one stepbrother — and now being threatened by the other — made my stomach twist. I don’t know his name but they call him Mr. Silence, he doesn't talk too much. I never even heard him talk, this is the first time I’ve heard his voice. “Uh… Thank you.”

His eyes gleamed under the flickering fluorescent lights, a predator who knew his prey was cornered. Lina’s breath misted in the air as she took a cautious step back. The walls were lined with towering metal shelves, stacked with tubs of every imaginable flavor. She wasn’t dressed for the cold—thin tank top, no bra, her shorts from earlier barely clinging to her hips. She hadn’t expected this. Marco didn’t care. “Hands up.” His voice was calm. Commanding. Lina hesitated. That earned her a sharp look. “Don’t make me tie you up myself, Lina. Or… maybe you want that?”

"Is that what you call it?" He pointed a trembling finger toward the glass window behind me. "Look at them. Look at what your ambition did to them!" A wave of nausea washed over me as I slowly turned my head. Through the clear glass, my squad sat scattered across the bullpen. Miller was slouched in his chair, a thick fiberglass cast wrapping entirely around his right arm and neck. Santos had a black eye so swollen it looked almost black, his chest tightly bandaged under his shirt from three cracked ribs. Two other officers sat slumped at their desks, nursing dark, hideous contusions, their faces pale with pain.

I spent too long trying to get into her head and now I’m suffering the consequences of it. Sinful is staring me down, lavender eyes turning dark. “Are you sure that’s what you saw?” “As sure as I can be,” I say uneasily, watching Millicent walk away a few steps, even if she does linger for a long moment, waiting to hear what I have to say. “Did I say something wrong?” Sinful looks down at his clasped hands, breathing in deeply. This was meant to be a favour, to get on the good side of a few immortals, yet now I feel as though I’ve exposed something from between them that can’t be taken back.

Amara turned, eyes narrowing. Milo Nero. Tall, white-haired, dressed in a dark burgundy suit like a vampire king. His eyes were black holes. “You must be the prodigal daughter,” he said, stepping closer. “I’ve waited a long time to meet the girl who turned Sicily inside out.” Amara stepped forward, shielding Isabel behind her. “You’re done,” she said. “Granada’s no longer yours.” Milo laughed. “Oh, niña. You really think this ends with me?”

Icy grey eyes menaced towards me and I could also feel the antagonism penetrating from the man in front of me. "I'm sorry, I hadn't meant to bump into you like that." I sincerely apologized. The man glared at me and I noticed how his frown tightened with detest. He was the same man Sinister held by the shirt. Mikhail I believe his name was. His hands suddenly grabbed my chin,tilting it threatening towards him, "Piccola puttanaget, if you ever get in my way again, I will not hesitate to rip your organs out and sell them in the black market." He seethed.

Selina forces all the muscles in her face to keep a poker face, meanwhile, her heart is beating faster. She pretends to not understand the owner and asks another question. "What do you mean?" "Mademoiselle Selina, I believe? You are an ex-associate of Black Circle." answered the owner. The sunglasses may be able to conceal Selina's current state of agitation, but they cannot reduce her heart rate.

They wouldn’t suspect me of anything even if they saw me with the dead body.
