His robes whispered against the floor as he walked, his thin frame almost hidden by their folds. “You called for me,” Milo rasped, his voice carrying the eerie stillness of graveyards. His sightless gaze turned unerringly towards Scarlett’s sleeping form on the bed. I clenched my fists tighter, claws pricking into my palms. “See her. Tell me what’s happening to her.” Milo moved closer, his pale fingers trembling as he reached out. He sat carefully on the edge of the bed, placing two thin fingers against her temple. His eyes fluttered rapidly, lips parting as his breath came in shallow gasps.

(Sienna's POV) The dark was absolute. Not the soft dark of a bedroom or the gentle dark of a car at night. The specific crushing dark of a sealed wing with no windows and no emergency lighting and someone who knew exactly where the breaker was. Milo made a small sound beside me, not quite a cry, the sound he made when he was working very hard to be brave. I dropped to my knees and pulled him against my chest before the second heartbeat had passed, his small arms locking around my neck with the desperate strength children do not know they have.

Travis realized he was no longer in control of his own body. "Wha- What are you doing to me?!" he yelled. "Pleasuring you, sweetie," she replied. Travis tried again to gain control of his body but failed miserably. "I can't move!" She placed a finger on his lips, "Shhh. Don't fight. It will all be over soon." The woman's eyes turn a vibrant red. Travis' face became white with terror as he watched two huge black wings extend from behind her... This wasn't real. This can't be real!

Reluctantly, he looked sideways. Parked in the visitor’s circle was a sleek, silver luxury sedan. He knew that car, it's Noah’s mother’s car. His stomach twisted. What now? He forced his breathing to steady, wiped his face with the back of his hand, and composed his features into something neutral before walking over. As he approached, the driver’s side window slid down with a soft hum. Sarah Grayson sat behind the wheel, an elegant woman in her early forties, her dark sunglasses reflecting his tired face back at him. She adjusted them slightly.

"No!!!" Tina was shrieking, "My baby!!! I'm so sorry!!!" Zach came rushing in. "What's wrong?! What happened?! What are you crying for?!" Tina could only keep wailing, "My baby… My baby!!!" Feeling a sense of foreboding, Zach walked up and unwrapped the swaddle to see that it wasn't my daughter, but the son they were so obsessed with! The bastard's cheeks were purple, and he wasn't breathing at all, clearly having been strangled to death.

The pain worsened, intensifying to a white-hot spike that drove me to my knees. It was the weird man, standing over me, but why does he look so terrifyingly different now, so soft and concerned when moments ago he was nothing but controlled rage?

He clenched his fist and they began choking. "Filthy bunch!" He growled loudly. He clenched his fist tighter, his eyes shut and the midwives stiffed as though they were statues. "Useless creatures." He opened his eyes and released his fist. Their bodies slumped down, he turned back to the mistress and turned her head to the side. He quickly bit her neck. He waited for a few minutes, but got no reaction from her…he frowned… "Master, do you wish to resurrect the mistress?" The figure beside him asked.
