He looks beneath us seeing the large ship that sank in the water. “This ship sank in the early 1900s, and it belonged to my great grandfather. He was salmon fishing on the lake and when he was trying to get back when he hit a small rock in the dark and his boat sank. Him and the crew were able to get away safely in the small lifeboats.” I told him.

Zero. Mathematically speaking, my ability to stay afloat was barely better than a rock. I was about five seconds away from sinking to the bottom like a potato spinning inside a pork stew. I was so far out that people weren't even visible! Land was nowhere to be seen, captain, and drowning with my pink float wasn't going to be some Titanic-level legend. Alright, nobody was going to write a song for me or shoot a high-IMDb movie, because a pink, strawberry-patterned kids' float was just too tragically embarrassing.

Ways to begin my apology to them and how to start anew with them. He nodded, the weight of the memory pressing down on him. "I was the captain. I should've known better. If I hadn't been so stubborn, trying to sail through the storm, they'd still be here."
