Sinful Affairs
“You sound like someone who has.”
I looked through the screen, though I could see nothing but shadow. For a moment, I almost wanted to tell him everything, the nights I doubted, the prayers that went unanswered, the weight of other people’s sins pressing against mine.
But that wasn’t my place. I was supposed to be the anchor here, not another soul adrift.
Instead, I whispered, “All sins can be forgiven.”
The words felt fragile, hollow, like a candle’s last flicker before dying out.
