Silence enveloped them as Ada suddenly remembered that the diviner had asked a question. Ada could feel the eyes of the medicine woman walking all over her body. “I wasn’t in agony great one… I was just having a quiet time,” Ada said politely. The roar of laugher from the diviner made her traced her step backwards. It sounded like two hard rocks gliding over each other.

Welcome to Ashafa's shopping mall. How may I help you?" the lady said in a professional way

This chapter is in third person's POV Wunmi woke up to five missed calls on her phone, she checked the caller ID and saw that it was Tayo, he called few minutes past twelve. "What must have happened for him to be calling that late?" She said to herself. She went to Adesewa's cradle but she hasn't woken up yet. Adesewa was a peaceful baby, doesn't cry much. I couldn't handle it anymore so I scurried out of the room in a crying mess.

After the church service on Sunday afternoon. The Olayiwolas were back to their house. Ben and Ademide were busy in the kitchen - about to prepare a meal of fried rice and chicken, they were back to how they used to be - all grudges buried, lost love found. Ademide laughed as Ben told her about the Hausa people and how it was difficult for them to pronounce some words. - words like People, the, and how they used the letter 'F' in place of 'P'.

ADAM We arrived in Rayuwa five days after I received the call from my mother. The weather had a lot to do with the delay. We realised that Rayuwa was better than how we left it. I was glad the deity took our bargain seriously, and my stomach began to churn, realising we would soon have to sacrifice innocent virgins to fulfil our end of the bargain. I began to wonder when the bloodshed would end.
