I heard a crackling sound of broken glass, then my nose wrinkled as I smelled the delicious scent of blood dripping on the floor. “Elizabeth!” My father ran towards her, but something possessed me. Before my father was able to reach my unconscious mother, I ran towards her in a swift movement and sank my teeth into her bloody hand. My enraged father grabbed my shoulders and attempted to pull me away from my mother's already limp body, but the beast in me would not concede. I ferociously shoved him and continued on drinking my mother's blood to the last drop.

The ground trembled beneath their feet, and the shadows twisted unnaturally, whispering secrets only the damned could understand. Lucian led the way, his senses sharper than ever. He could feel it—the heart of the curse was close. The entity that had plagued his bloodline for centuries was waiting for him. The others sensed it too. Even Dorian, who had always masked his emotions with a smirk and a sarcastic remark, was silent. Eldrin’s hands twitched near his daggers, and Evangeline muttered a quiet spell under her breath, her magic pulsing around her like a protective veil. And then, they saw it.

A freak accident that left me completely alone in the world. But now, I couldn’t help but wonder. Were they werewolves too? Had they known this would happen to me? Alaric said the curse didn’t activate unless you killed someone. If they were werewolves, had they never triggered the curse? Or was it something else entirely? I glanced at the window, where the light of the setting sun was fading, giving way to the night. The full moon was coming. I could feel it—a strange hum at the back of my mind, growing stronger with each passing moment.

I protectively stood firmly on my ground as the blood thorns swirled around me. “W-what are y-you?” Sonny coughed in a weak voice as he wondered. “The ruthless blood she-wolf of the Blood Moon pack.” I coldly answered, and he laughed like a lunatic. “I know, and you’re dead meat.” Sonny sinisterly smirked, and despite the blood thorns around his body, he attacked me, but instead of receiving his hit, my wife did. “ROXANNE!” “Deathly Blood Curse.” Roxanne sternly whispered as she touched Sonny’s chest, making the blood thorns around him begin binding him over and over again. “Uncle.”

Why are you here? Shouldn't you be reading some other story instead? I mean, who wants to hear about some cursed woman that is responsible for the death of her entire pack? Women, children, warriors. The Alpha and Luna. So many innocents died that night because of me you know..... turn away before it's too late. Please. You're.... still here? It's something their father suffered from before. Through the joint action of the council he was taken down…” she paused as if savouring her story.

My heart pounds so hard I’m sure it will burst. “Vaelora.” The voice is distant. Muffled. Aching. I squeeze my eyes shut. This isn’t real. It can’t be. It feels like a story I once heard. A nightmare I’ve had before. But the heat is real. It seeps through the walls. Through the floor. Through my skin. A scream splits the air. A woman’s scream. I bolt upright beneath the blankets, but I can’t move. My body won’t listen. The air grows hotter, thicker, impossible to breathe. Too— Weak.
