It landed near Xaren’s boot, catching in a crack between two stones. A flicker of motion drew Xaren’s eye. He crouched quickly, plucking the parchment from the ground. It was small—folded tightly, stained with blood at the corners and smudged with dirt. His gaze lingered on the seal for only a moment—Nyxorian black wax, unmistakable, deep and glossy black, bearing the unmistakable sigil of Nyxoria: the snarling head of a black wolf with a serpent curled through its fangs. He turned the note over in his hand, a chill crept through him and his heart tightening as he rose to his feet.

I dropped to my knees and slammed my bloody palm down on the center rune. The ancient magic pulsed in response. The stone glowed. First silver. Then gold. Then crimson—deep, living crimson, like it was bleeding with me. Behind me, I heard Silas hiss in pain as he cut his own hand and pressed it to the second rune. “By our oath,” he said through clenched teeth. “By blood and flame and fang. We claim this bond. Not the curse. Not your shadows. Us.” The cursed wolves hissed and shrieked. Some recoiled. One tried to lunge forward—

"Lyra's just an ordinary Omega, she..." Elarah pulled out a silver, crescent-shaped pendant. It glowed with a mysterious light in the moonlight. "This is her royal sigil. She dropped it. Only those of Moonshadow royal blood can activate its power." The pendant pulsed faintly in her hand, and the ancient, majestic power it gave off made my wolf instincts want to submit. Employing her violet longsword, she channeled an ethereal manifestation of her sword intent. The sword intent surged, shattering the shadow above the Black Palace, and the Black Palace rapidly vanished from its position. However, Waleria seemed to have anticipated this. She waved her hand, and an illusory palm sigil materialized, forcefully pulling the escaping Black Palace back. Once again, it materialized within the starry expanse. Gripping the violet longsword, Waleria surged forward, heading straight for the palace’s entrance, intending to slay Yvan and seize the runes.

The black hyenas are much more aggressive so I know how Sabrina felt. One of my pendants shone brightly and the three black hyenas that were still alive growled in pain. I saw my wolf rune pendant---it was the one that was shining brightly. Suddenly, I felt so light. It's like all my strength had tripled. The small blue diamond in my wolf rune pendant was glowing and its glow flowed around my whole body. I feel like recharge and are in good condition that causes my glowing golden white fur to glow even more brightly, almost blinding us.
