The black iron gate enclosing the estate had opened to reveal a lush, green landscape that stretched across the front yard. The building itself was coated in a polished bluish hue, elegant in structure, almost cozy in its appearance—like a dream mansion. But I knew better. I heard the click of heels approaching. From the sound alone, I knew it was a woman. “Hello, it’s a pleasure doing business with you,” a soft, angelic voice said. I looked up. There she was, Mira. Serra’s little sister. I swallow hard. My sister attempts to nudge me to her back in a defensive gesture, but I beat her to it. I turn around with vigor, grabbing her by the arm, and spinning her around before flinging her to the crowd. The people catch her, holding her for me while I turn to the monster.
