When the dust settled, Kazi stood in the center of the basement.
The suit was a terrifying monument to industrial violence. It had been damaged during the fight at the Sanctuary—the chest plate pitted and rusted by Malik’s entropic touch—but Kazi had clearly forced his engineers to patch it. Thick, crude slabs of ablative steel had been welded over the damaged sections, giving the exoskeleton a hulking, asymmetrical, Frankenstein-like appearance. The single, horizontal red visor glowed like a slitted eye in the dark.
"There you are," Kazi growled, the suit’s massive head swiveling to lock onto Baraka. "And the traitor, Dr. Mushi. General Nyosi wanted you alive for her little collar program.
