The door creaked open as she pushed it, revealing a scene that stole the breath from her lungs. Inside, the dim light cast eerie shadows across the room, but what caught her attention was the unmistakable figure lying on the floor. Padma. Kyra’s heart shattered as she rushed to her side, the world around her slowing to a crawl.
