Faith's Pov: I woke with a gasp, my chest tight as if I had just run a marathon in my sleep. The nightmares were relentless, plaguing my every dream. I hadn’t had a peaceful night’s sleep since I was a child. Every time I tried to close my eyes, I was pulled into a nightmare that felt too real, too vivid. I blinked rapidly, my gaze falling to the alarm clock next to my bed. Three in the morning. Of course. I groaned in frustration, flopping back down onto my pillow, my body a tangled mess of frustration and exhaustion.

What was he going to do about it? On the bed, Sophia managed to move her fingers . But that was not enough . She needed to do better than that. Her body would not just let her do that. But why? Part of the herbal mixtures that the healer had applied on her body had a way of making the patient feel a bit of paralysis crawling all over them. In that state, the healing would come slowly and ensure a full scale recovery. But Sophia needed to get up right now. She had been submerged in that state of subconsciousness for a few moments. “We made it.” She smiled faintly. “So it seems.” Astra moved to a bookshelf, locating volumes ancient and brittle. She pulled out one titled “Dreamwalkers: The First Circle.” Dust dispersed in shimmering motes. “I found a page you should read.” Astra handed it to Seraphina. Seraphina opened it. The page read: “Only when the vow returns to balance,through memory, choice, reunion—does the Sleepless One unravel. Not with force, but with forgiveness.”

The time he spent in a dream state—especially these days—was few and far between, and he resented anything that interrupted it.

He squeezed his eyes a little, thinking about the term in his onion head, ''sleep paralysis.'' He recalled and nodded, he was sitting with his legs folded under him and his fists made of his hands that he rested on his knees, spreading his elbows outward. Just when I knitted my brows in anger he walked to the bed on his knees like a little kid.
