I shook my head unable to open my mouth to say a word because I knew for a fact that I’d cry and beg him to please let me go.
“Good girl. Now drink your tea.” He said.
Like a good girl, I grabbed the handle of the cup and lifted it to my mouth, little by little I took sips.
But something didn’t feel right.
I get that I am scared and exhausted but why am I so sleepy?
My eyes are heavy, my vision is blurry, my head is beginning to … no! No!! No!
“You know what else I like about you, Lila?” He gently cupped my chin, turning my sleepy face to him. His lips curled into a warm smile as he said, “You are like an open book to me. I know you so damn well.” He winked.
