Life in the Cellar

Life in the Cellar

I said. My face was pale as death, and a nagging ache twisted in my stomach. It was an old pain that had been with me ever since I spent those three years in that cellar. Every day, I ate stale bread and lumpy mashed potatoes that had been sitting out forever. The bread was so thick and dry that it was almost impossible to swallow. Panic flashed across Henry's face. It was something I hadn't seen in ages. "Sabrina, I swear I didn't know! Do you think I'm lying?" he asked.

The Life She Stole

The Life She Stole

My parents tried every way to convince her, but my sister, Holly Shaw, was as stubborn as a horse. Back in the seventies when Anthony Brown and his mother, Amelia Brown, showed up at our farm, they were skin and bones, practically bullied out of their wits. Nobody dared to get near them, except for me, sneaking out in the dead of night with some food and warm clothes from our stash. For that, once the pair made it back to the city, marrying the girl who saved them was the first thing on their list. In my previous life, Holly had snatched the credit for that good deed.

Slicing Me Open

Slicing Me Open

Quilton offered me money to help me settle down, but I was too young and unwilling to accept a handout. Thus, Quilton followed me every day, handing out flyers and collecting bottles in the snow. He'd get so cold that his nose would run uncontrollably. Later, when my stepfather tried to steal my tuition money, Quilton got stabbed while trying to protect me. In his daze, he said only one thing. "Let me protect you." After that, it felt natural for me to get together with him. I had once vowed to build a good life on my own, but later on, Quilton gave me that life instead—so much so that I ended up thinking Quilton was utterly devoted to me.

A Night With The Billionaire

A Night With The Billionaire

Lily stares at me and I give her a small smile. "I'm fine. I had things to do, I'm sorry I haven't been able to show up here. " I smile and they all nod while I smile again. The kind of smile that says I'm alright even though I'm not. I don't think I will ever be alright again. I grab a chip and squeeze it in my mouth before opening the novel. Novels are something that I love. Romance novels in specific cause they keep me off from thinking about my terrible life. Recently terrible life.

this really the problem in this online reading cause it's getting so expensive they are trying to make the story longer and even continue at the book2 when infact the can compress make story beautiful in just one book. and it will be favor in both readers and writers. hope author can see that.

Great job Mercy Crown. You really got me with this book. I would recommend it everyone without hesitation but be ready to suffer because book1 is not a Happily Ever After. But it’s more worthy to read than any other book with a great HEA ending. Hopefully book2 is a HEA one

Billionaire's Regrets

Thank you so much for supporting this book! I hope you enjoyed reading from chapter one till the end. I was so excited when I started this book. Time travel was my favorite genre. So, I thought of making a time-travel, with romance, comedy, and slice of life in it. I know that the sm*t parts were so short. (Given that this is rated +18). To be honest, I was skeptical about writing +18 novels. But yeah, I did it. (And I will try again with my new novels hhihi)

The Stolen Life

The Stolen Life

I closed my eyes, trembling as tears escaped and fell into the food. "Happy birthday, Eleanor Shaw," I whispered to myself. "Keep moving forward—onward forever. Even if no one loves you, there's still light at the end of the tunnel. As Jeffrey said, you have enjoyed over 20 wonderful years of wealth and privilege. You've had it good." Just like that, I repeated words of comfort to myself as I wiped away my tears. I moved all my belongings that I had sorted out over the past two weeks in the living room.

A Different Life

A Different Life

He couldn't remember the last time he had a decent meal or slept a decent amount of hours, and the fact that he had a stressful job and just had more than a couple of drinks with his colleagues didn't help. He felt pain all over, the head joining in the fun, and he wondered if he would make it home or collapse on the street. Shen Wei was walking home after another boring day doing the usual boring things. He didn't hate his job, being an accountant was easy for him and working in a big company made it anonymous, and he liked it that way, he was fed up with being at the centre of attention for a lifetime. And yet there were days when he wished for something more, a thrill to make his days mor

Love, Life, and Other Stuff

“We all know how much you love shopping, and sometimes, those shoes and bags are hard to resist.” “You know it, my friend,” Shea said, pointing at Brooklyn. They continued to talk as they walked toward the diner. “There it is,” Cort said, pointing toward the run-down building. Shea stopped walking and wrinkled her nose as she looked at the diner. “That’s it?” she asked. “That’s the place with the to-die-for hashbrowns?” “Hey, don’t knock it until you try it,” Bradford told her. “Yeah, Shea,” Addy said, nudging her friend’s shoulder. “You know some of the best places to eat look the worst.”

Life in a matters of seconds

Life in a matters of seconds

Until she asked me a question that triggered my feelings of “Allie, I've noticed that when I ask you a question that doesn't have to do with your illness you somehow always add CF to the conversation, why is that?” I bite the inside of my cheek thinking about my answer, until I decide to speak. “I don't know, I really don't know, it's like it's all related to that” “Have you ever thought that there are more things in life that you can enjoy," he raises an eyebrow in my direction and sighs at my silence, “you seem to have made your life revolve around CF and forget that there is a world beyond the walls of your room”
