"Do I intimidate you?" He asked, cocking his eyebrow, a sexy smirk tugging up his lips. "More than you'll ever know, sir," she breathed quietly.

At our Thanksgiving family dinner, my stepbrother brought his beautiful girlfriend to meet the family for the first time. She held up her wine glass and flashed me a malicious smirk. “I heard you had a first love you can’t forget, Summer.” I kept my head low and focused on my food, unsure how to respond. After all, my first love… was her boyfriend. When I was seventeen, my stepbrother Ethan Cole tricked me into crossing the line we should never have crossed, while our parents were blissfully unaware. Even right now, under the table, his foot was rubbing mine sensually. He did not bother holding back. On the table, he held his girlfriend’s hand tenderly as he mocked me with a smirk, “You’re twenty-seven, sis. Your shelf life is running out, and you’re such a plain Jane. Who would ever want you?” I stood up abruptly and looked at him, my tone calm and resolute. “I’m married, Ethan.”

"I guess you are ready for round two..." Callan was an Alpha and his strength was unmatched especially to that of mine, a regular pack she-wolf. "Anaïs, you're mine and no power in this entire universe can change that" he whispered in my ear making sparks fly around us, electricity was shooting through my blood as if I'd put my finger inside a power socket. Fucking mate bond! "You're dreaming Callan! We're like the opposite poles of a magnet, we're the last people meant to be together. The goddess made a mistake" I told him. He was the guy I've hated forever and now they're telling me I have to love him? That went against every molecule of my body. "The goddess never makes a mistake and opposites attract princess" he breathed into my ear making me shiver. His words just made me more furious and struggle harder to get away from him. Satisfied with the effects his words had on me, he finally let me go. He gave me one last stupid smirk of his and exited the empty classroom. Ass!

After I finished the Luna training that every she-wolf dreamed, I went to my Alpha, Damien, with a request. To break our mate bond. "All this, just because I missed your ceremony to help my late brother's mate, Lilith, with the rogues in her territory?" A smirk twisted his lips, his voice a low rasp. I nodded, silent. "I gave my brother my word before he died. I swore I would protect Lilith. I can't break that vow! Why can't you understand?" he whispered, sighing heavily. "Stop being so childish! Why can't you be reasonable, like Lilith is?" I pushed him away with a chilling calm. Ten years. For ten years after our bond was confirmed, I gave up everything. The pack held me hostage, waiting for the Alpha to recover and mete out his punishment on me, but the Alpha surprised everyone when he said his punishment was for me to produce his heirs.

Calvin stopped right in front of Hasna without breaking their eye contact at all. "After all, we are husband and wife, it's fine for me to be naked in front of you, right?" Calvin teased as he pried open Emily's hands which were still covering her face. "I'm not ready yet, Calvin, will you shut up your finches first?" Emily demanded, still keeping both hands covering her eyes. "Hahaha, this is Emily's eagle, not a finch," Calvin corrected because he felt insulted if the heirloom weapon he had carefully guarded for 29 years was called a finch. "Come on, open it! Take a look at my eagle!"
