They were exhausted and hungry too. “ Do you care for some company?” The old man asked with a smile on his face. “ That wouldn't be a problem” I replied and immediately stood up to take a walk with me. We began to walk inside the woods together while I listened in rapt attention to the life stories he told me. As we walked slowly, we got to a place and couldn't breathe in properly again. The smell there was extremely offensive. When we searched for what could have such an offensive smell, we saw a corpse lying not too far from where we stood.

“No. Hell no. He had it coming. I’ve let him and his precious little fan club step on me for years. If anything, I was nice about it.” With a huff, I stomp my foot, spin on my heel, and march forward again. My legs are just dragging me wherever they please at this point. Maybe straight into the jaws of a rogue. Wouldn’t that be poetic? Also—I smell like death. Not like actual death, more like… the essence of it. Spoiled tomatoes, stale milk, something fruity and rotten I can’t even identify, and, what’s that? Oh yeah. Roasted chicken. What kind of disgusting buffet am I carrying on my skin right now?

Judging by how pungent it was, it wasn't coming from far away. My stomach grumbled and my eyes darted everywhere hoping to spot where the smell was coming from. In doing so I had managed to walk into a puddle. I shriek softly, feeling my sock now wet and cold from the dirty water. I pulled my feet out, shaking them softly in a feeble way of trying to get out some water. I managed to look like a complete idiot and got stares from the people that were passing by.

I've put my foot in it and I don't know how to get out. "It's not what you think, on the contrary, I stink of sweat and the last thing I want is for you to smell me like a dead dog," I stutter, my words coming out so quickly that they're unintelligible. "Just give me a couple of minutes, and you'll see how fresh I come out of the shower like an apple."
