Chapter Seventy Eight

When Christopher got to work, he was still smiling. He was smiling because of what he wanted to do and he was happy. He has always wanted to be close to Rose and Prince for years. The small amount of time that he has spent with them can be considered his best. He has been happy and the best part is coming home to meet people who are eagerly waiting for you. When he got to work, his employees who saw him walk In with a smile were very surprised.

They all know that their boss hardly smiles. If you want to catch him smiling at work then, maybe it's compulsory but these days, if he is not smiling then, he will be looking at his phone. He just kept giving a nod to every greeting that he got. When he got to his office, he went to the Picture of Rose that he had in his office. The picture was taken when Rose was Still in Benue state. She was putting on a red crop top and bum shorts and walked out of her house to empty the waste bin. That was when the picture was taken. Christopher had more than enough picture of her and Princess that was taken unawares.

He looked at the picture just like he does every morning. When he gets to the office, he would say good morning to the picture and tell the picture a lot of things. Who would have thought that he would have the opportunity to do that to the physical Rose? Talking to her yesterday had helped free his mind and the story she told was childish but it made him forget his sorrow. After looking at the picture for a while, he went to his seat and sat down. He was about to turn on his laptop when he got a call from the person he called earlier. "Have you done it?" He asked immediately the call was connected.

"Yes, boss. You will appear on their breakfast show as the last guest. They usually don't take guests at that time but, when they heard you were the one, they agreed almost immediately." The person on the other end of the phone said.

"Ok, that's good. I will send you some questions. You will pass it on to them and they should add it to whatever questions they have for me." Christopher said.

"Okay boss!! You are to appear on the show by 11 am. They said you need to be there some minutes earlier so that they can go over some things with you." The person on the other end said.

"Okay, that won't be a problem," Christopher answered.

"Alright boss!... Boss, can I ask you a question?"

"What is it?" Christopher asked.

"Why don't you just come to our tv for your guest appearance? It would have saved us a lot of time.!"

"I know it would have saved a lot of time but, I don't want to be linked directly to the company. If a make a guest appearance on your program then, people will start to speculate. They will start to ask why I choose to appear on your program and reject others. I don't want people to start speculating." Christopher answered.

"Okay boss! I understand."

"Okay, let's talk later. I will be at AIT as early as 10:30. Thank you." Christopher said and hung up the call. Ever since he came back to Nigeria, he has never appeared on any tv show. He has been called for interviews several times but he would always turn them down. Now that he was willing to make an appearance, no tv station would turn him down. They would naturally Accept without delay. After the call, he sent Rose a message. He had just turned on his laptop and was going through his emails when he got a call from the same person he had just finished speaking with. "Is there a problem?" Christopher asked because they hardly communicate so much in a day. The person calling is the acting CEO of his media house.

"Uhm, there is no problem. It's just that, there are pictures of you and the boss lady that is circulating now. I think it was taken this morning at the mall!" The person explained.

"Really!? Wow, those reporters are fast.! Hold on, let me check what they wrote.!" Christopher said and took his other phone. He just searched his name on the internet and saw that there were indeed pictures of himself and Rose when he got out of the car. He was going through the various posts when he saw the one with the most catching headline.

'Mr. Billionaire screams his love for his wife!!' That was what the headline said. He clicked in it and it was obvious from what they said that they were talking about when he screamed that he loved Rose. The person who wrote the article even went as far as praising their Love. Christopher's smile continued to spread wider as he read. When he finished reading, he laughed very loudly. The person on the other end was surprised at the sudden laughter. "Oh, this Is very nice! I like the person who wrote this article.!!" Christopher said after laughing.

"Which of them?"

"Wait, let me email it to you," Christopher said and copied the link to the article and sent it to the other party. "I have sent it to you. When you get it, look for the author and reward him or her, I like what was written there. You can even try to recruit that person.!" Christopher said.

"Okay, boss!!" He answered and hug up the call. This wasn't the first time Christopher had made such a decision. He had done such a thing when Rose had not come to Lagos. A reporter wrote an article about Cindy and Christopher, that person was able to find out some of Cindy's past. Christopher was very happy when he saw it. He asked them to find out who the writer was and reward the person for doing a great job.

After that call, Christopher reread the article and felt better. That was when he decided to send Rose a message.

After being left alone, Rose took her phone intending to fully read what was written. At that moment, her screen lit up and it was a text message. "Make sure you turn on your tv at 11 and tune it to AIT. I have a surprise for you." The text read. It was Christopher who sent the text.

"What kind of surprise is that?" Rose sent back.

"Just wait. It's called a surprise. If I tell you then, it won't be a surprise anymore." Christopher replied instantly.

"Okay..." Rose replied and put down the phone but another message entered again.

"What are you doing?" Christopher sent.

"What am I supposed to be doing?" Rose replied.

"Hmmmm, you can be sitting, standing, walking, or even smiling while reading my message.!" Christopher sent.

"Well, I am not smiling while reading your text. I am just looking at the phone and typing with a bland expression...." Rose answered with a smile on her face.

"Are you sure? Cause I feel like you are smiling and typing..." He sent. Before Ross could reply, he sent another. "I know you are trying to stop yourself from smiling right now!"

Rose who was truly trying to stop herself from smiling had to give up trying. "Have a great day at work!! I won't reply to you again. All you know how to do is flirt." Rose replied.

When Christopher saw her message, he couldn't help but laugh at her. He was already expecting something like that from her so, it didn't come as a surprise. After he had finished laughing, he sent her another text that said. "If I don't flirt with you then, who else should I do it to?? I have you... If you think my talk is just flirting then this is just the beginning. Anyways, don't forget to turn on your tv when It's 11 o'clock... I love you."

Rose was still waiting for him to send another text even tho she had told him not to. She was waiting for the text and he didn't disappoint her. In a few minutes, she got his text. When she got to the part that said I love you, she remembered what he did in the morning. She also remembered that Bolu showed her something before she left and that's what she wanted to check before Christopher's message entered her phone. Instead of going back online to check it, she decided to ask Christopher. "Uhm, do you know that our picture was taken this morning?" She sent.

Christopher wasn't expecting her to reply so, when he saw that she sent him another message, he was both surprised and happy. "I have just seen it... Is there a problem??" He replied.

"No, I just wanted to know! I don't have a problem with it if you don't..." Rose sent.

"How can I have a problem with such a beautiful thing!? I absofuckinlutely love it!!!" Christopher sent.

"I get but, no f words when talking to Me... Don't you have work to do?" Rose asked.

Christopher saw her reply and laughed. "I have work to do and I am doing it right now! My job is to put a smile on your face and that's what I am doing." He replied.

Rose looked at the time and saw that it was 10:20 she then sent a reply to his message. "Bye... I need to do something important!"

When Christopher saw her reply, he also replied. "Yeah, me too... Take care and don't forget to tune it to AIT when it is 11."

Rose saw his text and decided not to reply. She was also eager to know what was happening on tv that Christopher was insisting that she watch. She took the remote control and turned on the tv. There are two televisions in her office. One is connected to the CVTV cameras and the other one is normal. She turned it to AIT and their morning show was still ongoing. When it was a few minutes to 11, the host announced that there would be a special guest who would join them in a few minutes. They went for a commercial break and when they returned, the host of the show said, "now, it's time for our very special guest!! Please, permit me to welcome our special guest to the show, he is someone everyone would like to see, including myself." The host said and laughed. "Let's welcome, Mr. Christopherr Allen!!!" She said and Christoper walked in with a smile on his face.
