Jacob walked behind me, his own eyes cast down, thinking about what lay beneath the mystery of my smile. Smiling gently, lips in a sweet curve, I walked alongside Jacob. My smile was the slow and deliberate kind, a slow smile spreading across my face like a sunrise sweeps across the sky. But Jacob had no idea why I smiled; the satisfaction and control I felt surged through my veins. He looked at me, seeking my eyes for an answer, but I simply continued smiling back in amusement with a glint in my eyes, savoring the moment.

After all that horrible transformation, Sadie took me back down the stairs, and when Lucas saw me, he began to cough, but I knew he was actually laughing. Sadie sat me in a chair, and brought out her phone, clicking pictures, and acting lovey dovey with me. “Hey, hey, smile! Smile like the sun.” She ordered, and I bared all my teeth, making her hit my face with the phone. “Ah!” “You look horrible if you do that! Seriously, you’re so ugly. Now, smile like I’m doing.” She said, and I did. She clicked, and next she made me pout like a kid, which I also did.

“You already have it.” He grinned in satisfaction at seeing a smile back on my face. The dimples on his cheeks appearing with that charming grin, every time he smiles. The metaphorical dark clouds that hung over our heads, now cleared and the sun back out. Both of us in a good mood again. He tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear. Rubbed my cheek with his right thumb. He looked into my eyes, and I stared right back into his. “I’d like to steal your heart,” he suddenly spoke.

He smiled, handing her the drink that sat on the table and reached for his own glass of something pink, icy and with a tiny rainbow-colored umbrella. “Then may I make a toast? Here’s to new friendships, Miss…” he began and for a moment she was transfixed and frozen in her seat by his dazzling smile. Her breath catching, her pulse thrumming in her ears. He cleared his throat softly, her cue to finish his sentence. “Oh, Dennis…I’m Sandra Dennis,” she answered, touching glasses briefly before tipping her now warm iced tea to her lips. She swallowed such a large gulp of the amber liquid, that it felt like a rock sliding down her esophagus. She grimaced at the sensation and pain as the liquid slo

“Tom!” In the reflection, she could see Tom whirling around at the sound of her voice, “Suzanne?” Then for a brief moment, he seemed to see her, and his face broke into a smile. Then the streams started to flow again. HaShem smiled as he played with the grass underneath his feet. Then he looked up at the sky and said, “I will let you go and wait for him at the rainbow bridge.” The rainbow bridge…just like from mother’s lullaby!

She turned towards Claire who was also busy just like the other students, drooling over Mr grumpy. "So he is the " London Malik" huh?" She retorted. "Shocking right? I intentionally skipped the part of him being the most handsome dude on the planet, I wanted it to be a huge surprise," Claire replied not sparing her a glance, her eyes were glued to the glamorous figure standing at the podium. "You know, this is not my first time of seeing him but it always feels like it, geez, how can someone be this cute," she squealed sheepishly.

Greg notices me looking at them, and he smiles, “What?” I shake my head, “Nothing.” He looks suspicious, “You’re doing that thing.” “What thing?” “The emotional smile.” I gasp, “I do not have an emotional smile.” He nods seriously, “You do.” I narrow my eyes, “You’re lucky you’re hot and attractive.” He looks delighted, “I know.”

Then seductively, she added, "And I could turn that smile upside down, you know... If you let me.... Wanna get out of here for a while?" Evan stared at her. That was forward... And from the look on her face and her body gestures, he knew exactly what she was offering. He knew that he shouldn't take it.. Knew that it was wrong that he was even considering it, but he couldn't seem to be able to look away from her.

She may say my kisses are powerful, but she has that same power with just a simple smile. I smile back at her and lead her outside to my car, and get her door open for her. She settles in the seat while I put the food in the back, and then get in the car. I’m ready to leave all of that heaviness behind at the diner and try to make the rest of this night end on a good note. Let’s do this.
