My hands slide down his arm and I take his hand in mine intertwining our fingers. "What are you doing?" I mentally scream at myself. "I don't know," I look down at our intertwined fingers then I look up at him. He was already looking me, smiling. I did a little mental victory dance. I didn't know I could do that to someone, make them smile when I barely did.

People were listening. People believed me. People cared. A smile slowly stretched across my face. Greta noticed immediately. "There she is." "What?" "That smile." She grinned. "I haven't seen that smile in ages." I rolled my eyes. "You're being dramatic." "I'm your publicist." She adjusted her glasses proudly. "Being dramatic is literally part of my job description." I laughed. A real laugh. The kind that reached my chest. The kind I hadn't experienced in a very long time.

“I want to lecture you, but I have to admit that it is good to see you laugh again. I haven’t seen you laugh for a long time. You should try doing it more often. Both of you look beautiful when you smile.” I shake my head. “I don’t know about that. It will ruin my reputation of being a cold and fierce CEO. Plus, who has a smiling security team. I think that would freak people out more than anything. I’ll keep my smiles restricted for outside the office with friends and family.” A playful smirk spreads across Page’s face as she teases, “And for your special someone.”

I tried to say something when Mr Raichand interrupted," See you soon, Ms Niyati Verma." Saying that he forwarded his legs once again to leave the garden but stopped. He looked at me and said giving me a genuine smile," I can't wait to write our Niyati(Fate)". Saying it, he left the place and I became frozen in my place after seeing his smile. I never saw that much attractive smile. It was so pure and genuine. " Ruined by a smile," My subconscious said sarcastically and I nodded my head in the positive.

He walks to his study table, with the blue diary in his hand and takes a pen from the holder. I walk up to him. His back bends as he writes something. Tuesday. Make Celeste smile. ✓ "Cheater, I didn't smile," I put my hands above my hips. "Yes, yes, you didn't," he nods with realization. "You were blushing and smiling." "Shut up," I press my lips together. I hate that he's so observant. "Write a different goal, Plinio. This isn't a joke."

--- After class, I went with Lily and the others. We sat in a small café. It was warm inside. The smell of coffee filled the air. People were laughing. Talking. Sharing stories. At first, I just listened. But slowly… I started to talk too. Small things. Simple things. And I found myself smiling. A real smile. I said, sounding as if I copy-pasted this speech off of G****e. "Um, okay," Clayton stuttered, shaking my wrist from her grasp. "Seriously," I said, giving Clayton a smile. She smiled back, but this time, there was nothing hidden behind her smile - it was real. At that, my smile grew wider, because for once, I didn't make someone scowl, or grunt, or growl, or huff, I made someone smile. And that's a first, one that's catastrophically monumental

“Because you didn’t even smile at them, but you got up to shake my hand and congratulate me.” His expression remained completely serious. “Why should I smile at them?” I stared at him. “God, Adrian. Smiling at people is normal human courtesy.” “I don’t smile as a courtesy.” I laughed. “Obviously.” “I always leave a more than decent tip. Isn’t that more valuable than a smile?” “No!” “Why not?” “Because that’s not how things work.” “Then am I supposed to give people a fake smile just because that’s how things work?” I stared at him for a second.
