Just fun. I opened my dresser and pulled out my swimsuit. Then glanced at myself in the mirror. For a moment, I barely recognized the woman looking back. Not physically. Emotionally. The smile looked different. More genuine. Less forced. The fake smile I'd worn for years was gone. The one people expected. The one I gave at business dinners. At corporate events. At parties with Chris. This smile was real. And somehow, that realization made me emotional. Not sad. Just grateful.

"Smile emoji, TTYL" He turned off his phone not realizing that he still had a wide grin on his face. He looked around and absorbed the reality that he was inside an airplane. He was about to take off to the life he left behind for the chance to know a girl that might turn his life around. He sat back on his chair, took a deep satisfied breath, he was glad he had done it. It was one of the best decisions he ever made. He was ready for the next step to the future. He was more excited than ever because now he knew he had found what was missing before.

I smiled against his mouth and he smiled too. (Arghh, writing this scene has me blushing like a sheep. Omg, I love you Jaylen and Diana! Arghhh, I'm cryingggg. You guys, write a comment and tell me how you feel. I spend hours writing this! I love this book so much)

With our favorite girls, he said with a smirk emoji. I wrote back right away. I put one word ‘’It sounds like fun I send with a smirking emoji to Wade. I am waiting for him to write back, but he didn’t, so I put my phone down on the nightstand. I climbed back in bed thinking about what tomorrow will hold for me. I am smirking, thinking about all the fun I am going to have, my nerd. But first thing tomorrow, I need to find out about that girl tonight at my club. I will get up and go over to my club and maybe see if she registers on my list with her name and phone, etc.

For Stephanie, that smile was a silent message amid the ordinary rhythm of office life. After this encounter, Stephanie felt as if time had slowed.
