I pick up my order from the barista, fingers curling tight around the cup like it's the only thing keeping me from launching it at his perfect face. If there's anything I don't want right now, it's entertaining any conversation with... "As you can see, I'm not jobless." I flash him the fakest smile in the universe, the kind that says fuck off politely. He doesn't even flinch. Of course he doesn't. Men like him never do-proud, egocentric, and smug as hell.

A smug look is plastered on my face. He smirks. "It's exciting. Get on with it." "Don't rush me," I say, and adjust myself properly on his torso. My butt sits proudly on his groin, my palms spread out on his chest. He shifts, a sudden tension in his hips as he lets out a soft, almost inaudible moan. "I knew it; you're the true definition of fun—real fun." I smile. "Yeah, I feel the same way. Life needs to be fun to keep going, isn't that right?"
