Looking up, I saw her smirk. Oh, game on, little one.

And disgust. He eyed my protective stance, lush mouth quirking. “Relax, I’m not going to eat your pup or anything. Yet.” A humorless smile curved his lips. “Just curious to know how you’re settling in now that you’ve gotten what you want,” There was a smug look on his face that baffled me. What the fuck was he feeling smug for? I wanted to ignore the man yet, I wanted to bathe him in every snide remark I could come up with. My lips thinned as the silence stretched.

, he asked. Immediately after he asked, my stomach growled in response before I could say anything, and that made Alexander smile. It was not a smirk, a mocking smile, a sinister smile, or an I-know-it-all smile. It was a genuine, heartwarming smile. He found my stomach growl funny, while I found it embarrassing. The smile faded in less than fifteen seconds, but at least there was progress. He had not held back from smiling, trying to press his lips together even when they tried to curl up, like he had done before. He did not maintain a straight and expressionless face like he normally did, or smirk like he was my evil superior who found more ways to demean me. So, yes, I liked that he smile

He glanced back over his shoulder, and our eyes locked for half a second. That smirk. Lips curled like he’d just won some private game. That arrogant bastard.

He smirks like he just won. “What will it be, cousin?”

His smirk appeared, as if he had been waiting for this moment all morning. “Good morning, Luna,” he said, a smug smile already forming on his damnable face. “Nice seeing you again… .”
