“I did not cry,” I snap, indignant. I peek sheepishly-embarrassed at Noah.
“You did that weird hiccup thing,” she counters, and she’s laughing so hard her whole body shakes. I look at her in awe and realize … she’s my new shiny truck. The best things in life money can’t buy.
“Those were emotion-suppressed hiccups. Totally different,” I murmur, voice rough and ragged with emotion. “And everyone cries when Snape dies. Except maybe Jackson. That bastard’s heart is bulletproof.”
