“She’s still in there,” he muttered, gripping the dagger Saraphina had given him. “I know she is.”
“Then you better move fast,” said Saraphina, appearing beside him, her robes torn, hair soaked with ash. “Whatever you woke… it’s feeding off the vow.”
“The vow?” he asked.
“You promised her love, loyalty, that blood vow under the eclipse it bound your soul to hers. That’s what they wanted all along.”
