Silver Oath
“I think you can stop it. That is why I swore my Oath.”
His chest ached. “And if you’re wrong?”
Her gaze softened. “Then I will burn with you.”
The words stole his breath. He wanted to say more, but movement stirred at the edge of the camp. Serenya had risen, her starlit robes glowing faintly in the moonlight. She approached them quietly, her expression unreadable.
“You should not speak of the Sundering here,” she said gently. “There are ears among us that would twist the truth into fear.”
